NOTD: Nicole by OPI Rock the Look

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

You would know by now that I have been deep to my knees in textured polish and am loving it still.

"Speckled" textures are not new either, but I find the colour and texture combinations in Nicole by OPI's Roughles collection (Spring 2014) quite different.

I got all 4 shades but decided on Rock the Look for the day. A soft pink (not really me) but with red and black flakes (very me) that gives the overall look that peach tint I can totally rock.

Compared to the Gumdrops (sparkly textured polish, also from Nicole by OPI, Fall 2013), the Roughles are less gritty but equally fun and quite unique.

This is one and a half coats. With enough polish on the brush (which I didn't), you can totally do just one coat with good opacity. And please do not add a top coat to the Roughles! It would ruin the beauty of them all, in my opinion :)

The wear is better than average, more than 2 days for me. Another bonus. The Roughles are unfortunately LE. If you have them in the stash though, wear them now!

Nicole Always a Classic Coca-Cola

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

The last shade in Nicole by OPI Coca-Cola collection is Always a Classic Coca-Cola, a bright shimmery red.

It is interesting between me and a red nail polish. I feel a little too formal, too "red carpet" with it, while I have no problem wearing any other bright, even neon nail colours (or red lipsticks even).

Having said that, Always a Classic Coca-Cola is a really nice traditional red. I put on 2 coats here for depth. If you have enough polish on the brush, you can get away with just one coat.

The only problem I have with this red is that it stains my cuticle upon removal. You can see a bit of that left on my middle finger when I tried to remove the polish left on the side of the nail.

In comparison, OPI Coca-Cola Red is a bright red cream instead of shimmer. OPI collection is larger with extra Vanilla and Cherry Coke inspired shades, plus 2 new 100th Anniversary shades this year.

On a personal note, June will be a crazy month around here, with Squirt "graduating" elementary school and so many things to get fixed in the yard and pool. I am losing my blogging mojo, help!

Nicole by OPI Zero is My Hero

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

Don't you love a dark but sparkly mani?

This is Nicole by OPI Zero is My Hero from the Coca-Cola collection, inspired by Coke Zero.

Without direct flash which brings out the red tone in the base, Zero is My Hero is a slightly shimmery blackened plum colour, looks darker in natural light. You can get away with one good thick coat but I recommend 2 thinner coats to get the depth of this colour. It is worth it.

OPI Coca-Cola collection has the Coke Zero-inspired shade - Today I Accomplished Zero - be a black jelly base with red glitters. Being a fan of glitter polishes, I gotta say that version is a little more exciting, but Zero is My Hero is lovely nonetheless.

I gotta bring in some Sprite, can't stop there :)

The Sprite-inspired shade in the collection is Nicole by OPI Seriously Citrus, a glitter bomb of green, blue, mint and white on a clear base. I love the glitter combination but wish for a base colour so I could just wear it on its own.

I also want to check out the OPI version of Sprite, Green on the Runway, which is a brown/green duochrome. Love it when mainstream brands create more out of the norm colours. I can't have too many glitters or duochromes!

NOTD: Nicole by OPI DC Lover

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

This is one of my favorite shades from Nicole by OPI Coca-Cola collection - DC Lover, inspired by Diet Coke.

The colour theme seems to play up Diet Coke's packaging and not the beverage itself, as DC Lover is a sheer silver shimmery foil with tiny red hex glitters.

I did not use a base colour under 2 coats of DC Lover here but would recommend it, unless you want the VNL peeks through a bit. Application is problem free and removal is not hard either.

Considering its counterpart in OPI Coca-Cola collection - My Signature is "DC" being a silver foil, I like this Nicole's version a lot better.

As promised, I am giving Nicole by OPI The Look is Orange justice after the previous fail of a sponge mani on In Grape Demand.

Inspired by Fanta Orange, The Look is Orange definitely has that squishy cream look but I find the colour is more red than the actual Fanta.

Not complaining though, as I love the finish so much and prefer DC Lover than Orange You Fantastic! from OPI Coca-Cola collection, which a yellow texture with orange and silver glitters.

Two wins in one post for Nicole, that's something! Now if only we can have an easier-to-hold bottle shape, that would be golden :)

Nicole by OPI In Grape Demand

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

I want to show you today a beautiful fuchsia purple cream that Nicole by OPI brings out in the Coca-Cola collection, sent to me for review.

This is In Grape Demand, inspired by Fanta Grape by Coca-Cola. 2 coats, good opacity.

Back when I was growing up in Asia, Fanta was quite popular but I was not a fan of the grape flavour. No hating on the nail polish though :)

In Grape Demand seems to be a lighter purple than the packaging colour of Fanta Grape, but I am not complaining, cause I like it quite a bit.

I do not have any shades from OPI Coca-Cola collection, but going by how the colours look, OPI A Grape Affair (also inspired by Fanta Grape) is a much darker and dustier purple cream.

Forgive my fail sponging attempt here. I am still experimenting with the right sponge and the technique, so this turned out to me more of a watercolour attempt than sponging.

I used 2 other colours from the same collection - Always a Classic Coca-Cola and The Look is Orange but the gradient effect refused to happen. I definitely will feature them in later NOTDs to do them better justice.

NOTD: OPI Stir-fried Eggplant

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

This is OPI Stir-fried Eggplant, one of the "mysterious" OPI shades found at Dollarama I told you about a while ago.

Despite being a rebottled colour, it is a beauty, this dark plum with pink and purple (and sometimes green and gold) micro glitters. 2 coats here for colour intensity. I could wear it all the way through Winter.

Considering its original colour - Nicole by OPI Smile for the Glam-era from the Kardashian Kolors collection (Spring 2012) - was exclusive to CVS in the US, I am glad I could get my hand on it.

Originally, I didn't particularly care for any of the Kardashian Kolors collections and looked pass them when they were out. I don't mind the rebottling in this case, since I prefer the OPI bottle shape (easier to hold for photos) and wide brush compared to those of NOPI.

Due to Dollarama's no-return policy, I did buy Stir-fried Eggplant blindly but only paid $3 for it instead of the $8 price tag (US)/ $10 (Canada). All in all, I am happy with this purchase.

Here is the label, as proof that Stir-fried Eggplant does exist (lol) and more closeups for you. A friend found inspiration in NOTD pics with a kitty's paws as the background and challenged me to do it. Oreo graciously offered his paws to help me out :)

NOTD: Essie Pretty Edgy

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

First shade to try from my nail polish haul posted yesterday: Essie Pretty Edgy, glitterized and mattified.

It's kinda hard to believe I hadn't owned this shade yet, quite a unique green now that I see it on the nails. And it's a pretty good cream, opaque in one thich coat or two thinner coats.

I wore this mani over the (rainy) weekend, did catch a few precious moments when it cleared up to snap this pic. With natural light, no sun, no flash, the colour is pretty accurate and the glitters show up better.

This one is with flash, to show you the matte shine. Does it sound like an oxymoron? Hear me out first.

To get this look, I added two coats of Nicole by OPI Bring on the Tinsel as a glitter top coat, then Claire's matte top coat on top. I always admire matte glitter looks on nail blogs but don't do it often enough on here. It turned out pretty awesome this way.

Bring on the Tinsel has green, red/ fuchsia and silver fine glitters in a clear base, a pretty good pairing colour to Pretty Edgy.

Bottle shot to show you the quite complex glitter combination. I appreciate the unique size of glitters in this case, taking a break from indies' chunky glitter mixes.

Ignore the uneven nail length here. The nail on my middle finger broke off real bad while I was trying on some jeans, and it took forever to grow it out. Having longer nails is not just for show to me, cause the tip of my fingers would hurt if the nails are too short. Can't tell you how mad I was when that nail broke.

Anyway, hope a little green on the blog brightens up your Tuesday. Have a great one!

Collective haul

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

After more than a month being away, I was itching checking out deals around town. This is a bunch of purchases I did since I came back from vacation, hope they are helpful for some of you who are looking for the same things.

First stop was Lawtons as I love their clearance sale. I kinda miss it when I was away :)

Found all 4 bottles from Nicole by OPI Holiday Glitters collection which I passed when it first came out due to the high price tag. Gladly bought them now at half price.

From L-R: Snow-man of my dreams, Glitter in my Stocking, Orna-ment for Each Other and My Sleigh's in the Shop, CAD4.97 each.

Also found the 2 highly coveted shades for cheap - Revlon Topspeed in Mistletoe, CAD1.62 and L'Oreal Owl's Night, CAD2.97. There are OPI Grand Slam duos and China Glaze holiday sets on clearance too, if you are looking for those.

The luck didn't end there, as I found these Twilight Beauty's pack full of products, red-tagged for CAD9.99.

Product combinations are different in every pack, 6 products each ranging from face palette, eyeshadows, mascara, lip stain to nail polish.

By the look of it, each pack values at least $60, the nail polish itself already costs $7. Good steal, no?
I want to do a giveaway for one of these packs but only with enough interest, let me know.

Didn't want to miss Sally's Boxing Day sale, I went to the one near the bf's parents'. All red-tagged items were extra 50% off that day. Prices mentioned below are the tag price, before the extra discount.

I scored Orly's Birds of a Feather trio, with Sweet Peacock, Lucky Duck and Fowl Play, and a peacock feather bag, CAD7.99.

I also grabbed Orly Oui, CAD4.49, Finger Paints Comet's Collar, Silver Crackle and Red Crackle, CAD3.99 each. I scored a Caboodle black lace train case, CAD29.99, but already put it away, so no pic. It was really cute though :)

Last week I was lucky to be able to locate the Finger Paints Special Effects, with the help of the person behind Sally's twitter account. I got 4 - Twisted, Asylum, Motley and Flecked, passed on Flashy as I already have Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure and the likes. We do pay more in Canada, CAD6.29 each (with card, compared to $4.99 in the US).

Took advantage of this month's promo for a free China Glaze (excluding the Eye Candy shades) with a purchase of Seche Vite top coat (CAD9 with card). I picked White Cap as it is a fun layer shade. Looking back, this turns out to be an all white haul interestingly lol.

And lastly, if you haven't heard about the biggest sale at the Body Shop, you do now.

Holiday scents - Cranberry Joy, Candied Ginger and Spiced Vanilla (single products and gift sets) are 70% off (except the body butters being reduced from CAD18 to CAD10).

Online seems to have better stocks than in stores, but shipping is CAD7.95/ order or free with orders of CAD75 or more.

This is the Shower, Scrub and Moisture collection (I picked Cranberry Joy), reg. CAD25, now CAD7.50. Inside the hex tin box are a full sized shower gel, mini body butter and scrub, and a soap.

Was lucky to find this Body and Lip care collection in Candied Ginger (no sign of the other 2 scents of this), CAD45 down to CAD13.50.

I prefer this set than the above set, as it comes with all full sized products - shower gel, body butter, scrub and lip balm.

Like I said above, the body butter is not 70% off (CAD10 right now), so paying CAD13.50 for the set is a steal.

There is a Deluxe Gift box that is an upgrade from this set, adding a full sized shimmer lotion, a soap and a bath lily, CAD60 down to CAD18 but only the website has it. I couldn't find it in stores.

Note that your receipt will come with a coupon for $10 off your next purchase of $40 or more. Never saw this with TBS before :)

No pic of my Shoppers haul as all I bought were the L'Oreal Infallible eyeshadows, as backups and gifts. CAD6.99 is the best price I have seen on these so stock up, if you haven't already. The 6 new shades from the L'Or collection are a little hard to find right now unfortunately, it took me 3 locations to find them. Hope you can take advantage of this sale before it's over. Happy Monday!

Weekend finds

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

Alright, this is going to be a picture heavy post, prepare yourself :)

Maybelline is 25% off this week at Lawtons. Like I said before, Lawtons' price point isn't the best among drugstores, but I spotted a brand new display of the Maybelline Shine Sensational Pop Sticks and couldn't help but grabbing one each shade.

From L-R: Maybelline EyeStudio Color Explosion in Amethyst Ablazed (my Walmart sold out of this colour), Maybelline Shine Sensational Pop Sticks in 100 Pink Lollipop, 110 Raspberry Ice, 120 Citrus Slice and 130 Fruit Punch. The flash made the colours look quite similar but they aren't, at least in the tubes.

The Color Explosion has been getting raves from bloggers, so I had no doubt. Knowing that the Pop Sticks are going to be sheer, I was still sucked in, something about transparent lipsticks that smell good :) Technically, you won't need all four shades, as they probably appear very similarly on the lips.

Found some gems at Winners too. On clearance were Seche Base Ridge Filling Base coat, CAD3 and Cosmetic Arts yellow nail polish - I can't find the name, CAD3.

The Revlon PhotoReady foundation with bonus concealer was only CAD9.99 (half the price I saw at Shoppers), and there were about 4 options in shades. I already had the concealer from the States but wanted to try the foundation, wouldn't say no to the bonus. SPF20 is definitely a plus too.

Another exciting find are these Batiste Dry Shampoo cans (150ml), CAD6.99 each. Diva is supposedly boldly scented (spicy and sensual, uniquely sexy) and Boho has a sweet and spririted scent with a hint of hippy chic :) There were ones that target different hair colours too (I saw Dark/ Deep Brown) for CAD7.99 and 3-pack sets of the travel size for CAD9.99.

I believe these are the old packaging before the company went on an overhaul, which I don't mind as they still look pretty, as long as they smell good and do the job. According to Batiste website, they now have 12 different dry shampoo versions, mostly available in the UK with 200ml for £2.99 and 400ml for £4.99. I'm happy to pay the Canadian price to own the 2 new ones. Wish they had the XXLVolume too.

I took advantage of some sales at Shoppers, which are still going on the whole week.

Neutrogena acne care products are 25% off. I found some bonus packs for the same price, why not, right?

On the left is Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control 3-in-1 Hydrating Acne treatment (with bonus Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power Cream wash). On the right is Neutrogena Rapid Clear Spot Gel for Acne-Prone skin (with bonus Rapid Clear Foaming scrub). These all contain 2% Salicylic Acid, reg. CAD11.99.

Makeup wise, I got Quo Age Excellence foundation, on sale for CAD15 (reg. CAD27). JuicyTuesday raved about it, thought I should give it a try too. The only thing is it doesn't have any SPF. This foundation is now part of the regular line, so you have plenty of time to check it out.

Also gave in to the L'Oreal Color Infallible eyeshadows. Normally CAD11.99 at Shoppers, this week they are CAD9.99 each. I almost wanted to get the whole display lol, came home with 3 - All Night Blue, Flashback Silver and Time Resist White.

These are awesome for US swaps at the moment, as they aren't released in the US (yet).

Nail polish is the exciting part :)

Nicole by OPI is on sale for CAD5.99 (reg. CAD9.99 or more). I have been holding off getting them for a while, now is a good time.

I bought, from L-R: Sensational Scarlet, Such a Go-Glitter, Brilliant Idea, Make a Comet-ment and One Less Lonely Glitter. Yep, all glitters. I saw some new cream shades but nothing jumped out at me. Feeling like I was missing some LE displays though, might have to check another Shoppers, just to make sure. Any recs, you guys?

The rest of the haul were stuff that came in the mail.

From well.ca, I got the Cake Beauty LE Canada-exclusive Strawberry Shortcake 4-pc set. Originally CAD50, I got it for $10 off (total value CAD78). It was a limited time offer, so it isn't available anymore, unfortunately.

Came in a cute pink mesh bag:
- Decadent Bath & Shower suds, 515ml (reg. CAD22)
- Decadent Hand cream, 100ml (reg. CAD20)
- Decadent Lip butter, 6gr (reg. CAD12) and
- Decadent Body butter, 180ml (reg. CAD24).

Cake Beauty mentioned that these products might still be available at Sephora Canada, if you are lucky to find them.

I ordered from elf the day they had the 70% off sale. Decided at the last minute when the sale was timing out, I didn't have much time.

Emilynoel83 mentioned some Brightening Eye Colors that are dupes of MAC or of good quality, so I got Glam (smoky pink toned, with a black with silver glitter, pretty!), Day 2 Night (neutral shades with a bold plum and dark green) and Drama (smoky silver).

Great value for the money at $1 a piece, not mentioning the 70% discount.

Other bits and bops:
- Mineral Infused Face Primer
- Under Eye Concealer & Highlighter (Medium Glow)
- Mineral Eyeshadow primer, and
- Eyebrow kit (Medium).

I was obviously on a primer kick, got that end taken care of but forgot to order the HD powder, lol. These sales are so bad!

On the brows front, I've been pretty settled with pencils. The gel would be a little awkward to start out.

For brushes, I got the 4-pc Mineral brush set. Have always been curious about their mineral brushes, but also heard some not-so-good things. Thought a set would be a safer option.

Grabbed a Stipple brush too, to support my MAC187. Been wearing liquid foundations lots this summer, stippling brushes are great for that.

The last brush you see in the pic is a Complexion brush which was a mix up. I wanted the Flat top Power brush, oh well...

Lastly, also ordered a large brush holder. With 70% off, I figured it was worth getting instead of making my own.

Sorry for posting this a little late. My camera (the flash) didn't work very well tonight, I went and grabbed Squirt's just to find out the battery was dead. Then I had to pull out the old Olympus camera that I had, hoping for the best :)

There is a severe thunderstorm going on outside. It didn't bother the cats, but Squirt wasn't a big fan. She wanted to watch the lightning but didn't like the thunder :) Hope you guys stay safe where you are.

My stash - Nicole by OPI

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

Nicole by OPI is a fun brand for its bottle shape. It does make holding the bottle for NOTD pictures a little awkward, but I don't mind. They do take up a bit more space in storage and don't stand up as well as other bottle designs.

I don't own many Nicole bottles, mostly because of the price (CAD10 a pop, more or less). All bottles you see here were bought in clearance for around CAD4 each.

From L-R: Faux Fur (Holiday 2009 collection), It's Gold Outside, Winter Glitterland (Holiday 2009 collection) and Let's Get Star-ted (Winter 2009 collection).

I am still eyeing some more bottles of glitters and multi-coloured hearts from this brand, but might just look for cheaper alternatives - NYX Girls or something.

And here are the darks, collected from different stores during my craving for blackened colours.

From L-R: Turn Out the Light, Blues in the Night, Shimmy Shimmer, Black to the Future, Black Cat-cha Later and Party at 3am.

I still haven't had a chance to swatch these shades yet, so can't have a verdict whether the coloured-glitters would show through the black base or not.

Hope you enjoy this stash post. It was snowing around here yesterday way into early this morning. People said we can't tell winter is over until we see April snow, lol. So we did.

Have a lovely day, everyone!

Shoppers haul

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

Last Saturday, Shoppers had the 20x points, so I was there picking up a few things. Nothing major :-)

The first item on the top left corner is Gosh Cover Me Up Makeup Mousse in Champagne(#04), on clearance for CAD5.25 (reg. CAD21). I never knew Gosh had mousse makeup, so I thought I could compare it to the Maybelline Dream Mousse I had.

Right below it are Gosh Effect Powders in Rusty Nail and White Diamond, CAD3.25 (reg. CAD15), pretty colours.

On the right is Quo Prime Time Eye and Face primer (2 separate containers in 1 bottle) which I didn't know Quo had. Cool concept, don't you think? I'd love to see how well they work. Oh, and it was on sale for CAD9 this week (reg. CAD16). I also got a Quo Stay Put Lipstick in Seduction, a cool red colour. Quo lines have been extended quite intensively, I have to say.

Also found Duwop Twilight Venom on sale for CAD8.99 (reg. around CAD16, I can't remember), thought I could give it a try, at least for the cool name. I'm into red and dark red lip colours lately, as they show up better on my pigmented lips.

From the nail polish shelf, I saw this Nicole by OPI Black Cat-cha Later on clearance for CAD3.99 - the only shade at this price. It's a lovely dark burgundy shade, could join my dark Nicole army, lol.

And believe it or not, Shoppers does have GWPs, at least at this location I went to. Maybe because I was spending quite an amount of money (half of it was for the swap I am doing), the lady pulled out some stuff underneath the counter to give me as a gift :-)

And it was a bright red Puma shoulder bag and a sample tube of La Roche-Posay (another Canadian brand) Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel, supposed to be for acne/ oily skin. Great to try!

I feel good as I gave Quo some attention with this trip to Shoppers (party thanks to the swap), as it probably deserves it. Shoppers could do a little more PR work for its home brand, as its product quality so far is not bad at all.

There were a few other Quo products on sale this week, so feel free to check them out. Words on twitter is that Shoppers is doing a "secret" x20 Pharmaprix Optimum points event tomorrow. You'll need to bring in this coupon. Note that it said Pharmaprix, so it might not be a nationa-wide but rather a province-wise event. Plesae check before you use it.

More polishes!

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

I was in Shoppers on Thursday, looking for the air cast for my ankle (expensive stuff, I was surprised). Passing through cosmetics, I saw the little bucket again. Remember my little polish haul for CAD3.99 a bottle? It's the same bucket, and this time it's even fuller. Omg!

Turns out the cosmetics manager was doing some "cleaning" and more polishes ended up in the bucket. The staff even brought out another plastic bag for me to pick from as she knew I was saw most of them last time already, lol. Unfortunately, there were a lot of repeats/ multiples.

Want to see what I found this time?

Nicole by OPI, the dark side, lol. I don't know what it is about these bottles, but I couldn't stop myself from getting them all. I found some before at Winners, CAD9.99 a pair but not to this extent.

From L-R:
- Blues in the Night (black with micro teal glitters)
- Black to the Future (black with purple glitters)
- Shimmy Shimmer (dark purple)
- Turn out the Lights (black with green glitters)
- Party at 3am (black with purple/blue glitters).

I don't know whether the glitters would show up on the nails as beautifully as in the bottles, I guess we'll have to see swatches later :-)

Also found something I haven't seen much around here: L'Oreal Resist & Shine Tatanium - the Black Gloss collection. I only found them on L'Oreal UK website, guess North America wasn't supposed to have them.

I chose 2 shades: 734 Black Red and 735 Black Gold. The colours are gorgeous but the cap is funny (I'll do a close up shot with a NOTD later), and the bottle is small (9ml).

Also found a Borghese colour I didn't see last time: Ectasi Indigo (same holiday collection as my previous 2 bottles).

I went a little crazy with the nail polishes lately, I admit, but the idea of owning these hard-to-find colours excited me so much. Hope you don't mind haul posts, as you know it's not meant to be bragging or anything, right? If any of you have been looking for these, I could get you some too, while they are still on sale.

On the way out, I saw the sign the store put up a little early - $10 gift card with $50 purchase starting Saturday. Well, I could have waited to buy these for that gift card, but the colours might also be gone by then. Who knows! Decision, decision :-)

Nail polish little hauls

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

I was on a mission trying to hunt down Annabelle fall shadow colours, so I went to 2 more Shoppers. Didn't find what I came for, but found something unexpected - discounted nail polishes :-)

First Shoppers, these polishes were on clearance for CAD3.99 each. There were quite a few in the bin, assorted brands, I tried my best to restrain myself and got 6 :-)

First row, from L-R: Nicole by OPI It's Up to You, It's Gold Outside and Let's Get Star-ted.

Second row: Borghese Magnifico Magenta and Gusto Gold Dust (from Holiday collection) and Sally Hansen Salon Mulberry.

These brands normally sell in the CAD8-10 range, so this was a steal. I tried to find swatches to justify my purchase but couldn't, except for Let's Get Star-ted and Gusto Gold Dust. The brands aren't very popular I guess. Please let me know if you have these colours and how you like them.

Second Shoppers (not on the same day, mind you, lol), these polishes were on sale too.

First row: Nicole by OPI Winter Glitterland and Faux Fir (from Holiday collection), CAD4 each.

Second row: Gosh Black Passion and Blue Monday (yes, it's a backup), CAD3 each.

Back at the beginning of the year, I saw Gosh polishes for CAD6, thought it was reduced price and hauled (obviously). Now they cost half of that, lol. Somehow I never saw Holographic though, it's like the most pretty shade from Gosh.

I'm so happy to have these new babies in my polish stash. New brands, new shades, sale, good combination :-)

The bf and I are invited to the Lunar New Year potluck party at a friend's tonight (so I will have to cook) while Squirt has a sleepover at her afterschool centre. It's gonna be busy. Have a fun weekend, ladies!

Polish & False lashes

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

How's everyone today? As you know, I'm flying to Toronto for IMATS, so this is a scheduled post. Wanted to have it up quick, as some of you might be interested in these items. If you are, go find them quick, as stock is low.

The other night, the bf needed to go to Futureshop for a good deal on computor monitors, so I ran quickly to Winners to check out new stock.

I found these 2-pack Nicole by OPI full sized bottles (.5oz/ 15ml) with different colour combinations, CAD9.99/set. These bottles retails CAD8.99 each at Shoppers, so this price was really good.

And I have been into dark shades, so I got:
Set 1: Persuasive Peach - a duochrome peach colour, and Turn Out the Light - black polish with micro fine green glitters
Set 2: Party at 3am - black polish with micro fine purple glitters, and Blues in the Night - black polish with micro fine blue and green glitters.

The glitters didn't show up very well in the picture, but I hope they show on nails. I haven't swatched them yet.

I also found Barielle for the very first time around here. As I recall, they are sold for $8 on their website, and Winners had them for CAD4.99 each.

There were quite a few colours to choose, but I went with Glammed Out Garnet and Blackened Bleu, the most stand out ones to me.

There were about 4 packs of Ardell Little Black Dress kits on the shelf, and I wanted Hot Date. The kit came with 2 pairs of lashes, adhesive and a pair of tweezers, CAD4.99. Now I would need a special occasion to pull these out to use, if I could figure out how :-)

Talking about false lashes, I got these Deluxe Eyelashes for Halloween from Shoppers a while ago on sale for CAD1.99. They are purple with silver glitters, and the glue. A little dramatic, but whatever.

The Red Cherry lashes #C210, I won from BFTE (formerly called Beauty from the Earth) on twitter. They now carry certain styles of Red Cherry lashes on their website for about $2-4/ pair.

They also sent me a sample of Lavish, I wouldn't have a chance to try it until I get back.

At the time this post is up, I'd be on the way to Toronto. Will try to have my Day 1 post up tonight if I wasn't too overwhelmed to take notes, or didn't end up getting back too late.

Have a good day, ladies.
