If you read my blog for a while, you probably knew I started out with mineral pigments as my first makeup item.
I was so excited to be sent the full sample set of the latest collection at Aromaleigh - Victoria's Revenge.
The colour chart on the left is from their website, and on the right is how the baggies were sent to me - in a pink mess bag and pink wrapping paper. The thing with pigments is that they could show up totally different from what they appear in the bags.
So check out the swatches, they are swiped on with a damp brush. The shades with *** are my best favorites, but there are more in this collection that I'd love to own full sized jars of, if not the whole set. First set of 10, first row, from L-R: Phantasm***, Cyanide Sorrow***, Gaslight Tears***, Magick & Metal, Skeleton Key.
Second row: Internal Chaos, Airy Ethos, Oleander Vapor, Scratched Scruples, Private Lunacy.
The swatches are all taken with flash. I think it brings out the lovely shimmer in the colours. It's my weakness and I always lean toward the darker shades. The very first few shades already knocked me over. Second set, first row: Brazen & Bitter, Bleeding Poppy, Nightshade, Freakshow, Mourning's Whimsy.
Second row: Mania's Locus***, Obscura, Tarnished Strychnine***, Splintered***, Perpetual Motion.
Again, dark shades got me. The collection is Victorian/ Steampunk/ Gothloli inspired, so that isn't a surprise. The colours almost appear duochrome under flash.
They would look really lovely on the crease or with a smoky look. Combinations are endless. Last set of 5: Mayhem's Trilogy***, Poison Utopia, Ruthless Indulgence***, Apocolypse Pansy and Frigid Gloom***(at the bottom).
I swatches these last and didn't want to wash them off. The teal and blue colours are opaque in one swipe, so pretty. Is it just me? Lol.
In short, I am really excited about this collection. I'm sold by the swatches already and can't wait to do looks with them.
I hope my swatches are helpful for some of you. There are colour descriptions on the site, for your reference :)
I would love to hear what you think about this collection. I am not commissioned on this post, as always. All for the love of makeup. Cheers!

You have heard about Aromaleigh here on my blog when I bought some shades from their Hot in the City collection. Aromaleigh is one of the best mineral makeup companies to shop for eye pigments, as their colours are very vibrant, smooth to apply and last long on the lids. Counting down to Christmas this year, they are having a 12 days of 50% off items promotion. Each day, one specific product on the site will be 50% off (for only 24 hours). That's so cool!
For today, it's the Rocks! Sonic Eyes. This is an awesome collection with a full range of 80 colours, retail for $6.50 each. With the sale, we only pay $3.25 per jar.
Note that Aromaleigh aims for brighter shades with this collection, and added organic dyes to the ingredient list. As a result, they do suggest people with sensitive skin to do a patch test first, especially with colours in the red family.
There are 38 colours in this line that are black light reactive. You can find the note about this in the colour description tab, right underneath the colour panel. Interesting!
If you are interested in the true mineral lines at Aromaleigh, keep checking back when the new 24-hour sale items are up every day. I bet you will find something you like there, as they have so many great colours. Happy shopping!
Aromaleigh is one of the mineral makeup brands that I appreciate. Their pigments are of great quality, strong staying power and vibrant colours.
Last time when Aromaleigh released the LE Hot in the City collection, I was so intrigued. Just look at the colours, how can you afford not to get them?
The shades retailed $8 a jar which was a bit more than what I normally pay for my pigments. So when the collection went on 25% sale to retire, plus an offer of extra 20% discount store-wide, I grabbed a few important shades at $4.80 each. This is one beautiful collection that I couldn't manage to skip. I got 6 jars and am going to use the website description for the shades.
Top row: Heat wave (warm golden luster with iridescent pink highlights and tiny golden sparkles)
Middle row: Socialite (roses, mauves and browns in a lustrous frost with bright sparks of pinky mauve) and Italian Ice (sweet and tart bright lemon yellow with pretty pink sparkles throughout)
Bottom row: Swelter (lustrous tangerine with a pink iridescent highlight and contrasting purple sparkles), Lady Liberty (lustrous smokey blue green frost, the shade of weathered copper) and Coney Island (joyous green apple luster with bright sparks of green).
I picked the 3 free sample from the same collection as well: Girl's Night Out (warm purple frost with bright green sparkles), 24 hours (deep coppered garnets, smooth and lustrous with tiny sparkles of gold and pink) and Hustle & Bustle (a warm coppery brown shade with iridescence of pearlized greens and roses). I was happy that I get to try out a good selection of shades from this collection.
The bottom right corner is a sample of Sylvie - a mineral Colour Creme for lips.
I bought samples of Aromaleigh's Valentine collection before and really loved them. The only reasons I don't shop there often are the shipping cost (flat rate $5 for any order under $40 which isn't necessary fair if I only order a few samples) and the higher price ($8/ jar).
Sorry I couldn't post about this collection any sooner, as the order just arrived yesterday. The collection is sold out already, but there will be great ones on the site and more to come. Right now, you can save 20% on Aromaleigh with code "virgo20" till September 6. This discount even applies to the weekly 25% off items.
Talking about sales, The She Space also has 20% off all full sized eye pigments until September 7 - including LEs (which comes down to $3.60/ jar). You'll have to open different windows to check out all the collections, and then put the shades' names in the box at the sale page.
Now this might be the chance that I was waiting for when posting about the Leo collection. Should I get it now? If you are in the US, join TSS's Savvy Shoppers Club for extra 15% rebate on your purchases. Similar program that works for International orders is in the work. I can't wait.

I received a few sale notifications in my mail box, thought I should share in case some of you want to do some shopping this weekend.
- Makeup Mix Shop: 15% off store wide (except elf products). Sale ends July 26 at midnight. Free shipping US/Canada with orders $20 and over.
Time to check out EcoTools, NYX, Jesse's Girl, Kleancolor, LA Colors :-) There are accessories too.
- Coastal Scents: 15% all brushes. Sale ends July 26 at midnight. No code needed.
I only shopped at Coastal Scentsonce for 2 of the 88-shadow palettes (1 matte/satin, 1 shimmer), and shipping cost sucked (about $14). I caved in for these palettes as so many people raved about it, but with the high shipping cost, I wouldn't come back there any time soon. Shipping in the US is free with orders of $50 or more though. Lucky Americans!
- Aromaleigh: 50% off Days are on, starting July 21 for a week. Each day, a certain product will be offered at half price and announced on Miss K's blog.
I had bought a sample set from Aromaleigh before to test out. The shadows applied really smooth and the colours stayed all day. The only rant I have is again(international) shipping cost, as it would cost at least $5 to ship, even when you only order samples which fit in a small envelope. If Aromaleigh could break the cost down to different levels of order amounts, that'd push me toward ordering more for sure.
Don't forget to check out the Coupon & Deal section for some savings.
- MAC: Free Canadian Express Shipping on any purchase until July 27 at midnight. No code needed.
- Glamour Doll Eyes: Individual full-sized eyeshadows (not sets/ collections) are 50% off with purchase of $40 or more. The jars are now $4 each (regular $8). Use code "customer" at check out. Sale expires on July 29.
If you need a side purchase to make it to $40, the blushes are 33% off ($8 each instead of $12 regular) at the moment. Price already includes the discount.
- Spa Boutique: The Canada-exclusive Jane Iredale Sweet 15 Kit - Limited Edition (valued CAD369) is offered at CAD89. It comes with 15 shadows, 3 blushes and 3 lip plumpers.
As this is a Canadian site, shipping is free with any Canadian order CAD75 and over, so it's free shipping for this kit (but you'll have to pay GST). For US, shipping is $15 for orders under CAD150, and free for over CAD150. Not so lucky Americans in this case, lol. That's Canada Post pricing for you!
I don't know much about Jane Iredale brand except for its high price tag, but the kit looks decent at that price. Are there any Jane Iredale fans out there?
- Fruit & Passion: Hand wash/soap refills are CAD19.95 (regular CAD28-30). Free foaming handsoap (valued CAD12) with purchase of any 2 hand soap refills.
In the picture is the new Fruity Foaming hand soap refill in Grapefruit-Guava. Doesn't it look good enough to eat? Other 2 scents are Field Berries and Orange-Cantaloup, and that is just 1 kind of hand soap. I like the idea of refills, less packaging, more eco friendly. These bottles are 1 liter, would last you a while.
Since my first experience with Fruit & Passion, I love to step in to sniff around in the store every time I come to Micmac. It smells like fruits in there, not too overwhelming like a Lush store.
Tired of reading yet :-) Shopping or not this weekend, hope you all have a good time.

I love long weekend sales, as they give me something exciting to do when having an extra day off from work. Also, sales are always great to save some money. And we do not have to leave the house to get the deals.
Anyway, here are some deals that I am eyeing. We don't have this long weekend (as it's not a holiday here in Canada) but I check for deals anyway.
Makeup Masala's Makeup Mix Shop (MMS) has 15% off till midnight Monday. No code needed, as the discounted prices are already calculated on the website. I am tempting to get a few items in the Clearance section actually. Oh, shipping within the US and to Canada is free for orders of $20 or more, and they ship everywhere. These were my 2 hauls combined of NYX and Jesse's Girl items from MMS. I grabbed the Jesse's Girl's Colour My Wolrd the minute Toma told me she had it up on the website, as I was itching to get it for the longest time but Jesse's Girl is not sold in Canada. Customer Service was great too, and pricing was totally awesome. Believe me, I always do price check among online retailers to make sure I get great deals. So I totally recommend MMS for your fix of NYX, LA Colors, Jesse's Girl, EcoTools. Lots of beauty bloggers from outside US love MMS as it is the place where they could get items that are not available where they live.
Aromaleigh has its entire Rocks Sonic Eyes collection on sale for 50% off until midnight on Monday. 5gr jars with shifter now only cost you $3.25, awesome right? Just enter ROCKS50 in the coupon code box at checkout. Now Aromaleigh normally has some selected products on sale weekly at 25% off, but 50% is very occasionally and deals like that are normally announced on Miss K's blog. I ordered a full sample collection of Aromaleigh's Valentine before and liked it. Just one rant about shipping cost. International shipping is $5 for orders under $40 and $12 for larger orders. I just wish they break down the cost to smaller ranges, as a full sample collection fit easily in a small envelope and is very light in weight. It sucked to pay $5 for shipping. I'll report back if I get anything with this sale.
