FOTD: Revlon & Jane

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

I am late with the post today, blame my busy life and many distractions this week. Tonight, many of my blogger friends in Toronto are at one of the biggest and most exciting events of the year. I wanted to have fun too but for now, this FOTD will have to do :)

I used all the Jane eye makeup products I reviewed yesterday in this look - Earth and Jasmin eyeshadows on top of Vasanti All Star 2-in-1 face and eye primer, and Rose Gold water resistant eyeliner in the waterline, paired with Milani Liquid Eye Liquid-like eyeliner pencil in Black.

On the lips is Revlon LE Super Lustrous lipstick in Sultry Samba, layered up for pigmentation. The colour is fabulous, I just wish it were full coverage. If you have natural pink lips, Sultry Samba would look 10 times better on you!

Other products used:
- Make Up For Ever HD Micro-perfecting primer #2
- tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage balancing foundation SPF15 in Tan
A fun foundation but again, not full coverage (despite the name lol)
- It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eyes full coverage concealer in Neutral Medium
- ColorEvolution mineral blush in Desert Dusk
- CoverFx Setting Fx translucent mineral powder
- Marcelle Xtension Plus + Pro Lash Growth Complex mascara in Black
My lashes haven't been behaving lately, have to count on the extra help here
- Wet n Wild ColorIcon brow & eye liner in Dark Brown
Almost use it all up :)

Summer means mowing the lawn (buying my first lawn mower this week), taking care of the pool and backyard, and all things outdoor all by myself. Is there a guidebook somewhere for me guys? Don't think so, but if I am lagging again on here, I hope you understand.

Jane eye makeup

Ahhh Jane Cosmetics, it has been a while!

Since the brand went into revamp and then relaunch, Canada has not seen it at all. The new products they offer in the US received quite some raves and I have to check them out myself.

Also from the 40% off sale at Ulta, I finally got 2 shimmer eyeshadows (reg. $8 each) and a water resistant eyeliner (reg. $6) in my greedy hands.

The price range and colour selections are nice, and packaging is standard, with added embellishments.

I chose the water resistant eyeliner in Rose Gold, since I am still on the rose gold everything trend, and thought it would make a nice water line liner.

And it is, nice colour pigmentation (though leaning more toward taupe than rose gold) and does not budge after it sets.

Jasmin is an iridescent white eyeshadow with shimmers, a little soft to the touch of a brush. I have been enjoying it in inner corner and brow bone.

Earth, described as a deep mahogany copper but to my eyes is a dark brown with a hint of red tone, definitely will grace the crease and outer V areas.

Both eyeshadows are pigmented and easy to blend. Earth is more firm and gives no fallout. I do enjoy these but wish they come in a pan form, or a fill-your-own-palette type of format, cause I want more colours :)

Here are the watches with different lighting angles, in the same order:

I would definitely explore some more if I am near an Ulta. Check out the FOTD I did with all these 3 products.

Goodbye Jane!

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

This is a quite late alert, but I just found out today: Jane is pulling out from Superstore! And that means there is a huge clearance sale on whatever left on the shelf.

I visit the cosmetics section at Superstore every week when we're there for groceries, except the last 2 weeks, as the bf is away. And Jane picked this exact time to go on sale. Imagine my disappointment when I saw the almost-empty shelf. I love Jane's shadow palettes and bronzers!!!

So, this is my consolation purchase:
- Be Pure Mineral lip balms in Pink Quartz, Pink Garnet, Rose Quartz, Deep Amber (tinted), and Eucalyptus (clear).
- Blushing Cheeks blushes in Blushing Earth Sheer and Blushing Petal
- Endless Eyes liquid eye liners in Midnight and Chianti.
These items are CAD1.50 (more or less) each, around 75% off.

The 2 Revlon nail polishes in Midnight Affair (deep navy, darker than how it looks in the picture) and Plum Attraction (deep purple) are just to ease the pain of Jane loss :-( They were on for CAD2.44 each (half price). The only other place that I saw Jane is Zellers. Just wonder whether she's gonna pull out from there too.

On a happier note: Annabelle Custom Quads has arrived at Superstore and Walmart, with the 12 regular shades (no LE shades). No indication of the free palette promo with purchase of 4 shadows like what Shoppers offers, but better coverage of the brand at different stores means they do some work in marketing and PR. Let's hope!

On a not very happy note: It was cold this morning - 11 degrees. It has been a lot cooler after Bill left the area, it seemed like he took the summer with him too. And Danny is expected to land some time this weekend. 2 hurricanes in 1 week, that's gotta be a record.
