I Live to Shine

Introduction

Hi and welcome! You found me! This is my little place to show the world how badly obsessed I am with anything sparkly, hence the name of the blog. I love makeup in general, but I am totallly devoted to eyeshadows (with sparkles of course). I started out with MAC shadows, but quickly turned to mineral pigments to spice up my eyes - and never turned back since. I added other mineral makeup products to my little makeup cabinet, but nothing could beat my pretty shadow pots.

I started my makeup journey quite late - a year ago, to be exact and I'm in my early 30's. Shocking, I know! I have no idea where my youth went without makeup. The good thing is I am totally committed now. I learn quite fast, and build my skills and stacks along the way. It has been a fun ride. I am inspired by many beauty blogs that I frequent and so want one for myself where I can post my thoughts, my hauls, great deals around town and all that stuff. It is lovely to have my own place, finally!

A little bit about us. Squirt and I live in Halifax, a small city on the East coast of Canada (the other side, across the country from Vancouver). Yes, it is cold here and we do get lots of snow (as Canada is always known of to lots of people). Our summer weather lasts about 3 months and people go crazy with it. Except for the weather, I like it here. It would be more exciting though, if there are more like-minded ladies around here to talk makeup with. Hope this blog could help me get to know more people, and maybe make some friends.

I decided to "debute" my blog the same day my little Squirt turns 6. This blog is like my little baby, so we can have double birthday celebration each year from now on. To my (future) readers, come in and feel right at home. We are here to share the love and fun. Thank you so much!

I am moving to Halifax in September to go to Dalhousie. Do you find that you are able to find a good selection of polishes there? What are your favourite stores to go to?
    Thanks!

  11. Smita, (early) welcome to Halifax. It's a great place for studying for sure. Shopping wise, we have good enough resources but don't have big stores (Sephora, Rexall), depending on what you are looking for, I guess. Feel free to comment or email me if you need any recs. For nail polish, I go to Shoppers and Lawtons during sales
