Weekend finds

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

Yes, you guessed it. The biggest part of my weekend haul is Hard Candy :)

My most lemming (but not the only one) the moment I saw detailed pictures of the release was the Candy Sprinkles collection - picture from Body and Soul Beauty.

My Walmart was a little late getting the new products in, which caused me a few stalking trips around town. But it was a good thing in the sense that I could see swatches of the colours before buying. For that reason, I was successful in narrowing down to only a few shades.

I held my breath when I saw the display, silently grabbed 5 bottles then exhaled lol.

From L-R:
- Gummy Green and Sweet Tooth (Candy Sprinkles collection)
- Jubilee and Celebrate Sequins (Crystal Confetti collection) - Black Tie Optional was sold out or I would have got it too.
Yes, I knew about the bar glitters in Jubilee curling up but I couldn't help it. It was pretty and different
- Crush on Amethyst (Crushed Chromes collection).

The nail polish are CAD3.98 a piece.

Other Hard Candy products I picked up:
- All Lid Up cream eyeshadow in Purple Heart, CAD5.98
- All Glossed Up lip crayon in Love Bite, CAD4.98, and
- Shadow Dancer liquid to powder eyeshadow in Night & Day, CAD5.98.

And if you missed my note in the flyer deal post, Walmart now carries Pure Ice nail polish. I found them in an end cap display, CAD1.97 a pop.

The two shades I got are glitters, of course - Look My Way and Come Closer. Lol the names together sound like an invitation, don't they?

My main reason to go to Shoppers this weekend was the $3.99 deal on Rimmel (selected) eye and lip products.

I wanted more lipsticks from the Kate line, which turned out to be not part of the sale (only the regular Lasting Finish lipsticks are). I was just lucky because a wrong sale price sticker was put at the Kate section, and the cash had to honour it.

I bought #06 and 09 from the regular Kate line, #104 and 107 from the matte Kate line, reg. $7.99 each. I'm digging the red packaging, not that the black doesn't look great itself.

Other things on sale:
- Gosh nail polish in Girls on Film. My location seems to clear out all Gosh nail polish they have at CAD3 a pop (reg. $7). Only found one shade I liked
- Nivea lip butter in Vanilla & Macadamia, CAD2.49 this week. Canada unfortunately only gets this scent and the regular scent, not 4 like in the US, and they took a while to show up on the shelf too
- Peptalash, reg. CAD24.99 on sale for $19.99. The product got some good reviews on beauty blogs. Would this help my sad lashes? We'll see.

I have been to several Lawtons to hunt for this display, thanks to the tip of a lovely reader. It is Revlon Pacific Coast collection, which have the four new shades of lip butters that Revlon Canada confirmed we'll get.

The status of the display proves that the lip butters are for sure the heart of this collection. Only four items per shade, so if you find the display, jump on it. I don't know if the shades will become permanent after this display is gone.

Only bought Wild Watermelon and Sorbet (the two brighter shades), I tried to be good. Revlon is 20% off this week at Lawtons, so I paid $7.60 each (reg. $9.50).

Only one slot each for the baby sticks, but they offer minimal colour payoff, so I wasn't terribly sad that one was already gone. The nail polish and eyeshadow quads can wait.

I'm sorry for those who don't have a Lawtons. My hope is the display will show up at Shoppers and Walmart soon. Shoppers is offering the 25% off coupon on regular priced items tomorrow, but you have to spend $50. Otherwise, we'll count on weekend promos at Shoppers or lower retail price at Walmart.

Semi annual sale roundups

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

This is a follow-up of the flyer deal post to update you with more details on the sales that are/ were going on.

When La Senza first announced their semi-annual sale mid last week, I went and found some great offers: 75% off, 50% off with additional 20% off, and just 50% off for bras, and 10 for $30 for undies. That was before the loyalty discount and $10 off $40 coupons.

Starting last Friday, the sale changed. Most of the "I Love Cotton" (reg. $19.50) are now $9.99, "Perfectly Me" (reg. $22.50 - $26.50) are $12.99, the "Hello Sugar" and "Beyond Cleavage" (reg. $42.50) are $19.99 each.

Also found my favorite The Lingeristas by La Senza Seamless Boyshorts in crazy neon colours with fun prints (reg. $8.50), now $4 or 10 for $30. Just a snapshot of the colours, and they are a lot brighter IRL. The colour names are super cool - Tipsy Lime/ Surfer Pink Explode Animals, Aqua Ice/ Hottie Pink Edith Dots, Hot Spot Botanical Flowers, etc.

Hope you find some great stuff with this sale (still going on). Styles and sizes vary among stores and online, as always.

For Bath & Body Works, I was hoping they echo the same sales in the US, and was a little disappointed that they didn't.

Selected Signature line scents were 50% off. I got Bali Mango, Rio Rumberry Glowing body scrubs from Spring release (reg. $14 each). There was no sign of Aruba Coconut. These were 75% off in the US, I heard.

The Forever Sunshine scent is being discontinued in stores, and was also 50% off. I didn't find the EDT, only got the Fine fragrance mist (reg. $14).

The best deal was 75% off on Select-a-Shimmer (Signature line) but I already stocked up on those a while ago.

Some fragrance mists with old packaging (reg. $12) were on clearance for $4 a piece, I grabbed Charmed Life and Paris Amour.

Selected candles were half price too (reg. $22.50). Squirt picked Bahama Fizz. I wanted to get some aroma therapy scents but they weren't part of this sale.

This sale is still on as well. Did you find/ get anything good?

Last find of the day was a surprise at Walmart. I walked by a little shelf with some pretty wedges, found these floral ones by g21. The style is called Porsha, $25.

The surprise was I didn't think Walmart carries such cute shoes, very trendy too (open toed, to add). And they are actually quite comfortable. And guess what, there was only one pair in my size left in the whole shelf, including other styles (solid colours - red or black). That's a sign right? I think so.

About other sales, I got some more bracelets off The Bay website during their 25% off F&F sale (only in the weekend) and some tights/ leggings with cute prints from the 10 for $10 sale at Claire's. Surprise, no makeup nor nail polish :) Come share your hauls with me.

Weekend finds

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

Sad to report that this series might become rare on the blog after this post, until further notice. With the transit strike happening tomorrow, I am totally immobile. Trips to stores will be quick in and out, if any at all, until buses are back on the road. Hope you understand.

Anyway, here are stuff I found last weekend, hoping to give you heads-ups on things you might have an eye on.

My little Maybelline haul from Shoppers, where selected products are on sale for $5.99 - sale is still on till the end of the week.

The Color Tattoos were part of the flyer pic for this deal so I knew I had to grab some - another Tough as Taupe and the two that I didn't have already - Too Cool and Fierce & Tangy. Have been rotating the ones I bought before, really enjoying them, so what's 3 more?

The Dream Bouncy Blushes are surprisingly part of the $5.99 sale (they retails $10.49 regularly at Shoppers and $7.96 at Walmart). I picked up Candy Coral and Plum Wine. I read that intense looking shades give you better payoff, but I am still on the fence on these, to be honest.

For the rest of the week, Shoppers gives you 8,000 points with $50 purchase, just in case you need an extra push :)

Not much at Lawtons this time other than these Cala Nail strips on clearance for just $1.49 a pack of 20 strips.

There's no individual names to the styles, so a quick pick to give you an idea of what they offer. Hot pink and black checkers, black zebra stripes on glittery gold background, black fishnet on glittery backgrounds, etc.

I'll be using these as a test run, before diving in more expensive ones out there. Still a snob with nail art and anything besides painting my nails.

This is a great sale you might want to know. Walmart has this whole Rimmel display with products on sale for $4.48 this week.

Well, the Kate Moss lipsticks (reg. about $6) look really nice, I love the red and fuchsia shades. The eyeshadow palettes (around $7.50 normally) had been getting good raves on US beauty blogs, we finally get some. I passed on these though, trying to control myself but thought some of you might appreciate the sale info.

And another new display I found at Walmart was for the new/ revamped Sally Hansen Diamond Strength nail polish line, $4.97 a piece. The bottle design is different, and the new colours are pretty nice too.

The top shelf, on the far right is Glass Slipper, one of the most sought-after shades from this release. No sign of Black Tie though :( The display was full, so it wasn't sold out or anything. I wonder if Canada will get this shade at all. If you see it in store, please let me know.
And for those who have been looking for Calgon Red Velvet body mist in Canada, Walmart finally has it in for $6.97! Now you know where to find it.

Hope you are ready for February. It's all grey outside today, but what's new? :)

Weekend finds

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

Guess where I spent 4 hours shopping at yesterday? Value Village :) They were having 50% off sale (Sunday for Super Savers Club card holders and Monday for everyone). Gotta say I have never hit such a big jack pot like this before, found dresses, cool tops for work and night-outs, jeans, fall boots, school clothes for Squirt and a few outfits for my baby niece. They all looked like new, I was so excited. We spent lots of time in the fitting room, lots of stuff to try on.

Alright, moving on :) If you haven't heard about the BOGO sale on certain Smashbox products at Shoppers (until end of October while supplies last), you do now. My store didn't have any sign about this promotion, so make sure you ask.

Technically, BOGO products include single eyeshadows, eyeshadow trios, Eyelights, Eye Illusions, single cream liners, Lash DNA and Camera Ready Full Coverage foundation. My store excluded the Lash DNA though, so I couldn't get the deal on it.

I got the Eyelights trio in Smokebox, reg. CAD45 (loved that intense black on swatching) and the Camera Ready Full Coverage foundation SPF15 (reg. CAD44) was free. The shade (M3-M4) was darker than what I wanted, but it was the only shade left. At this point, I'd suggest calling your store to find out what stock is left, as they are gone fast.

Also found this Smashbox Sultry/ Sweet Glam box from the Soft Box Summer collection, reg. $68/ CAD78, on sale for CAD50. It comes with:
- Limitless Eyeliner in Smoke
- Photo Op Under Eye Brightener
- Eyeshadow quad in Softly Seductive
- Hyperlash mascara in Blackout
- Reflection High Shine Lip gloss
- Lip Enhancing gloss in Tempt
- Cheek Duo in Sultry/ Sweet
- Photo Finish Luminizing Foundation primer (travel size).

You might have guessed the Cheek duo was what drew me in, it looked really pretty. I'm still on the fence on the price though.

At Lawtons, I got some stuff on clearance.

- Fresh Minerals are 75% off, I picked up the Mineral Long-lasting foundation SPF15 in Soft, CAD4.99. The line only has 4 shades and no tester, I don't even know if this is my shade.

- OPI Not Like the Movies, CAD4.99. Finally I found this shade on sale, to complete my little Katy Perry collection.

- Sinful Colors are BOGO this week, come out to be CAD1.99 each, which is their regular price in the US. Sucks to buy stuff in Canada sometimes. I went for glitters in shades that I don't already have, Agaci and Pinky Glitter.

The Nail Art Diva! Diva Elements collections (Nail Art Expansion Kits, with an image plate and 2 nail art polishes each) were on clearance for CAD.99 each. They are supposed to be used with the Nail Art Diva printer which I don't have/ didn't buy. We'll see if they work just with regular stamping and top coat.

The colour combos I got:
Dark Seductions with Blood Red and Deep Midnight shades
Glam & Glitter with Bewitching Blue and Shimmering Plum, and
- Christmas Dazzle with Jolly Red and Shining Star.

Walmart was exciting this week too.

Physician's Formula is on sale. I grabbed the Mineral Glow Pearls blush in Natural Glow, reg. over CAD11, on sale for CAD8.92. There is a $6 Mail-in-Rebate sticker on it, I figured it was worth getting.

And then, there's Physician's Formula Mineral Wear Flawless Complexion kit, with Talc-free Mineral pressed powder, Talc-free Matte Finishing veil and Talc-free Mineral blush. The kit retails CAD28 (valued over $50), on sale for CAD16.80. I got it in Light, as it'd be a gift to someone I know that likes this line :)

The star of the haul would be these Wet n Wild 8-pan palettes. A few of you have found them in Canada a while back but a Walmart near me has just recently stocked them.

I passed on the blues and went for Comfort Zone and Petal Pusher. The best thing is they are only CAD4.64 a piece, which is cheaper than what Walmart currently charges for the trios (CAD4.99). So go get your palettes before they are gone. One Walmart already sold out of these and didn't know when they are getting a new shipment.

Totally random, but I found these at Walmart as well. Aren't they Shape-Ups-ish? The tag said they are from Sand N Sun, called Walk, reg. CAD10, on clearance for CAD7. They might go lower as the summer clearance goes on, but I didn't want my size to sell out.

Despite the bulky look, they are light and comfy to wear. Come in black as well, and also in crocs design, if you want to check them out. We'll see if they do anything for my body :)

Irene is over, and we see sunshine around here. How was everyone's weekend?

Weekend finds

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

To keep up with the tradition, Monday is for my weekend finds. Can't commit I'd be shopping every weekend, but I'll post up if I do :)

Shoppers had their Bonus Redemption event, so I grabbed a few skin care items that normally are a bit expensive to splurge.

Dermaglow is 50% off (till June 17), thought it was the best time to shop.
- Hydration Fix Serum (30ml, reg. $40)

- Vitamin C Microdermabration system (reg. CAD110), comes with the Vitamin C Microdermabrasion (50ml) and Vitamin C Moisturizer with Peptides (50ml)

- RoC Multi Correxion Multi-action Anti-Age Moisturizer (50ml, reg. CAD42). This was on clearance for CAD28, not mentioning the bonus Multi-action Makeup remover wipe pack (25's, reg. CAD16).

More things found at the clearance section:

- Neostrata Instant Tightening Serum (30ml, reg. CAD84), on sale for CAD50, plus bonus Eye Contour Firming Cream (15ml, reg. CAD32)

- Neostrata Instant Results set, with Skin Renewal Peel Solution (50ml), Skin Resurfacing duo (Activator, 28ml and Crystals, 20ml) and Anti-Wrinkle Lip Enhancer (4.75ml). Valued CAD143.50, retails CAD72.50, on sale for CAD45.

This was supposed to be a value set at Christmas time, which explains the heavy discount. My store has a few left.

This week, Lawtons has L'Oreal nail polish on BOGO, I couldn't miss the chance to pick up all 4 shades from the Summer Siren collection, reg. CAD5.99 each.

From L-R: Blue Marine, Pink Shell, Coral Starfish and Yellow Seahorse.

Other than these LE colours, L'Oreal hasn't been coming out with new colours much. My stash of L'Oreal nail polish is small, plus the quality is inconsistent. I'll be trying these out soon, for sure, and keep you posted.

I also went to a clothing sale at Dress for Success. Proceeds to support their operation in providing professional attire to disadvantaged women, so it was for a good cause.

I found this Guess Promenade handbag near the door, in mint condition. A quick google search showed that it retails more than $100 (new, of course). I paid $25, couldn't be happier. It's soft and has lots of room inside.

I was looking through the clothes but didn't see anything in my petite size. Found this leather fold down purse instead. There wasn't any brand tag/ sign on it, so I can't tell who it was from.

I liked the brown leather and the pattern on it, plus it was only $5, enough selling points? This one is also in good condition, almost like new. Size wise, it's a bit smaller than the Guess bag above - as I put it inside the Guess to save space on the way home.

Lastly, found a pair of shoes in my size. Enzo Angiolini, brand new, $10 :)

I was happy to see that the heels on these aren't too high for me to walk on. After spraining my right ankle back in February, I'm scared of high heels which was a popular case with many gorgeous shoes in the stores right now.

Also liked that they have a bit of colour, a step up from my regular black.

Accidentally found these suede purple shoes from the discount rack at Walmart. They are from George, CAD9 (reg. CAD15, I think).

Big heels, not too high (again), and they are very comfortable to wear, well padded on the sole and sides. Lol, I'm getting old!

No makeup shopping this weekend for me. A quick note though, if you are a nail polish fan, you probably heard about the awesomeness of those new KleanColor chunky holos, retail on their website for $3.49. I have been asking Beauty Joint if they'll be stocking them (they sell KleanColor for $1.75, but had only the first 155 shades) and they finally get them in. I already placed an order for all 9 shades, plus a few extras. Thought I should let you all know. No benefits on my end talking about them, rest assured, I was just excited to share a cheaper source to get nail polish :) Have a great day!

Hard Candy haul

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

As soon as I heard about Hard Candy new products making appearance at Walmart, I had to go get a few. We Canadians have been waiting so long for them.

My first attention went to the Fox In a Box first. Here's how they look in the original plastic cases with the lids popped open, CAD5.98 each:
- Skinny Dipping bronzing duo - with coral and brown tone, and
- Hot Flash blushing quad - with red tone.

Pictures were taken with flash, so the colours are washed out a bit. The second picture below is closer to the shades IRL.

There are another bronzing duo with pink and brown called Truth or Dare, and 2 more blushing quads with pink tone (Spicy and Sweet) and brown tone (Smooth Talker), if you are wondering.

Despite how crazy the colours look in the packaging, they are supposed to be sheer and buildable. They do have shimmers but not glitters.

Dupe of Benefit blush boxes or not, these Foxes in a Box are fabulous for the money. I have seen enough rave reviews to just go and grab a few. Hopefully they work well on my skin tone.

With the lids closed, they are pretty little boxes. I love the printed patterns on the top, and the colour themes throughout the boxes. However, they are cardboard, and therefore not very sturdy. Just a note if you want to carry them around in your purse.

One of the boxes didn't close perfectly and tore off a bit at the fold when I tried to push the lid down, which made me sad.

There is 5.7g/ 0.20oz of product in the box, would last me quite a long time.

Some more products I picked up:
- Glamoflauge Heavy duty concealer with concealer pencil, CAD5.98
- Undercover Agent Undereye brightener and concealer duo, CAD5.98
- Sheer Envy primer - Skin perfecting ultra light formula, CAD7.98.

The primer is not new but I waited to almost finish the one I'm using before picking it up. This one came with a box, but others on the display didn't have one, just plain tubes. I'm wondering what's going on with that.

Based on what I heard on twitter, not all Walmarts have brought out the new stock, so keep checking at yours, they should show up soon.

Boxing Day haul

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

Yep, I braved the crazy mall today for Boxing Day sale. We didn't make it inside the mall (parking was such a pain) until almost noon, I didn't have time to haul clothing except for 2 items at GAP (they had 40% off before noon). This post is picture heavy, just to warn you ahead.

The Body Shop wasn't a planned stop but turned out to be great.

They had up to 60% off on gift sets and selected items. This Love Etc. set was originally CAD68 (valued $85), on sale for CAD30 before the Love Your Body 10% discount. Great deal, considering it comes with 4 full sized items:
- Body wash (200ml)
- EDP (50ml)
- Body butter (200ml), and
- Body lotion (200ml).

The individual products from the set were not on sale, so buying them in a set at a sale price makes perfect sense :)

The Body Shop also ran the promo with the Joy to the World bag: Buy the bag for $5 ($2 goes to charity) and get 30% off items that fit in it - excludes gift sets.

Now this would not make as good of a deal as the 50% discount with the bag before Christmas IF selected items weren't already discounted. Let me break it down for you.

The 3 Body butters (full sized) in the pics were on sale today for CAD10 each, and the Spa Wisdom Body balm was only CAD5 (all were full prized before Christmas). With the extra 30% with the bag and LYB discount, you do the math :)

And even more fabulous, selected makeup items were 3 for CAD10 (same idea, before 30% off and 10% LYB). I was so excited to find the Cheek and Face powder there, as it was CAD21 regularly and sold out in my store back in Halifax.

Also found the Cheek Blush stamp, a very hard to find item. I grabbed the Body & Leg Shine (reg. CAD18.50) to try out too, heard good things about it.

All 3 for a bit over $6, this is the "3 for CAD10" sale at its best lol. The $5 spent for the bag was well worth it.

This bunch was the result of a quick stop at Icing. They sometimes had "5 for CAD10" sale which included some nail polish. These 5 shades, however, were 5 for $5, same sale price point with Claire's. I wouldn't complain :)

From L-R: Golden Child, Manic Monday, Grape A Licious, Putty Concrete and Lady Lucky (matte).

I didn't find anything at Claire's, but found that both stores have 75% off holiday items. If you are looking for some cheap buys, check them out.

And next stop: Bath & Body Works. I wanted to get some 3-wick candles for the apartment but the scents I wanted were either sold out or weren't offered. Selected candles were 2 for CAD20 or 50% off (reg. CAD21.50), mostly fall scents.

I went for Wallflowers - a single bulb of Mint Chocolate (CAD4), a 2-pack of Winter Garland (CAD8) and the Chrome Green Tree plug (CAD4). There was a wide range of holiday scents for wallflowers to choose from, better than the candles obviously.

A few more small items:
-Shea-infused double-layered lounge socks, CAD3. Very soft, love them!
- Selected Pocket Bacs 5 for CAD5 - I got Apple Mint and Cocoa Mint (from the Reindeer line) and Lemon Glaze (from the Cupcakes line)
- 2 free Signature Collection travel sized items (with coupon, 1 per purchase - I went to 2 stores as I couldn't find the Pocket Bacs I wanted at the first one) - Black Amethyst Fragrance mist and Japanese Cherry Blossom Body lotion (88ml each). These would come in handy for sure.

Walmart was certainly a mad house. I headed to the seasonal shelves for the 50% off sale.

Did find a few bath sets that would make good gifts when I go home, so no pics of them. But what I can show you is this fabulous Burt's Bee Radiance Bath set with 2 full sized items:

- Radiance Body lotion with Royal Jelly (175ml)
- Radiance Body wash with Royal Jelly and Jojoba Beads (350ml).

Less than CAD10 after the discount, like I got the Body lotion (reg. CAD14.99) for free, and this lotion was the main reason I got the set. So happy!

And you might not expect this, but I went to Superstore too. Walmart wasn't the only place that put 50% discount on holiday gift sets.

These Joe Fresh Large Bath sets were CAD20 originally, I always wanted to try them out when I saw them in store. Certainly a set is a great way to do that, especially when they are on sale.

I found Marine (blue) and Grapefruit (pink), but Joe Fresh Bath comes in 4 other scents: Lime (green), Nectarine (orange), Lemon (yellow) and Pomegranate (red).

Each set includes 5 full sized items (Body wash, Body balm, Body polish, Body spray, Hand soap) and a scrubbie. I'm sold.

More gift set :) This is from Olay, comes with:

- Olay Deep Cleansing Face wash (207ml)
- Olay Quench Body lotion (350ml)
- Olay Classic Moisturizing lotion (177ml)
with bonus Olay Replenishing Night creme (60ml) and a puff.

Nothing special here, except it was half price :) I tried to look for other combos but the shelf was already picked over - a popular scene on Boxing Day. But wait until I get to the good part of the haul, lol.

Joe Fresh lip gloss and nail polish :) These are holiday sets, so of course they were on sale too.

The Fresh Glass set of 5 minis was CAD10 originally. Available in 3 colour combos, but the other 2 had a clear colour which I don't know what to do with, so I picked this set (Warm toned)

And remember the nail polish trios I mentioned before? Now is a great time to get them :)

Set on the left is red toned, with Wine, Sweet Tart and Cherry from L-R. Set on the right has Midas, Imperial and Dupioni. If you need more reasons to go get these, check out the bottle comparison with some of these shades on Enamored Enamel.

Other notable sales that I saw:
- La Senza "10 for CAD30" undies and 50% off selected bras
- Lush: BOGO on holiday items/ sets and selected soaps (not Buy 1 get 2 free as last year)
- Fruit & Passion: 40% off the whole store, including gift sets
- Sephora: selected items were on sale, not that great though.

The bf found some good deals on video games and GAP clothing items, so we both left the mall happy. Tired though :) We promised Squirt to Build-A-Bear, so another update might be up tomorrow. Have a good one!

New products spotted

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

Have you been browsing around your drugstores lately? Tune in to see what I found recently at mine :) Good stuff, I promise.

I found this lovely display at one of the Shoppers I went. Click the pic to enlarge :) Can you tell what the line is?

Yep, the Sally Hansen Natural Beauty, inspired by Carmindy, has officially arrived at Shoppers :)

As far as I can see, we have quite a good selection of their products.

- First shelf: Your Skin makeup foundation, Airbrush Spray makeup and Luminizing Face primer.
- Second shelf: Luminous Matte Pressed powder, Translucent Loose powder, Natural Highlighter.
- Third shelf: Sun Glow Powder bronzer, Powder/ Cream blush
- Fourth shelf: Eyeliner, Gloss
- Last shelf: Eyeshadow and Mascara.

I was in a hurry, didn't note down the price. According to Carmindy on twitter, she is showcasing the line on The Shopping Channel as well. More access for us Canadians.

Also found the 3-piece Holiday nail polish sets from Joe Fresh, retail CAD10 each.

There are 3 colour combinations to choose from.
- Left set: Midas, Imperial and Dupioni. This is probably the set I would get, as I kinda like all 3 shades.
- Middle set: Onyx, Steel and Beet - Steel and Onyx are quite similar, except one has pretty shimmer. Beet is a cream burgundy.
- Right set: Cherry, Sweet Tart and Wine. A little too much red to my liking, but if you are a fan of the colour(s), this is not a bad set for the holiday.

Joe Fresh nail polish are 3 for $10 anyway, so the sets aren't a saving, and you also don't have a choice of what colours to get in a set. I assume these colours are LEs though, as I didn't see them before from the regular line. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Another item that caught my eyes was the Joe Fresh 5-pc Acrylic Brush set, retails CAD19.

By the look of it, the set includes:
- Blush brush (reg. CAD10)
- Concealer brush (reg. CAD4)
- Large eyeshadow brush (reg. CAD5)
- Crease brush (reg. CAD4), and
- Eyeliner brush (reg. CAD4).

Cost wise, this set is good for your money, as you basically get the 2 small brushes for free. I didn't compare the size of these to the individual brushes Joe Fresh has, but I don't think they are minis/ travel size either.

I kinda wish they include the foundation brush, but it would probably jack up the price of the set too much, a hard selling point for it. Can't say I tried their brushes before, can't comment on the quality.

And look, Superstore, for some miracle reason, all of a sudden stocks Wet n Wild LE collection. This is the latest Vixen's Mittens, sells for CAD2.99 a bottle.

I didn't expect Canada would have it that fast, but here we are :)

A warning though, these bottles are very tiny (6.5ml, if I remember correctly). The colours are nice though, very glittery/ shiny, some are quite unique.

Have you seen them around yet?

I have been in a crazy hunt for Annabelle's Hype and Insomnia collections. For some reason, my regular Shoppers (and some others) did not have them, period.

Now look what I found at Superstore: the Insomnia collection, lol.

It's unpredictable what Superstore would have on their shelves, LE or not, so it's kinda exciting not knowing what to expect (well, sometimes) :)

I had a fun time browsing the displays. Would have played around a bit more if I didn't have to go upstairs for the gym - it was Zumba time, couldn't miss it :)

One more interesting find of the week: Wet n Wild Beauty bags, CAD10.

This is the Canadian version of the Wet n Wild train cases that the Americans have been lusting after. No train case here, just a clear plastic bag, lol.

I took pictures of both sides of the bag to show you the shades. All bags are the same, i.e. there is only 1 choice of colour combo.

The front features a Beauty Simplicity Look, with:
- Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio Sweet as Candy
- Color Icon Blusher Pearlescent Pink
- Mega Last nail colour in Sugar Coat
- Mega Last lip colour in Think Pink
- Mega Length mascara in Very Black.

The back goes for a Hollywood Glam Look:
- Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio Don't Steal My Thunder
- Color Icon Blusher Heather Silk
- Mega Last nail colour in Caught Red-Handed
- Mega Last lip colour in Stoplight Red
- Mega Plump mascara in Very Black.

Note that all products in the bag are not full size. They are all a bit smaller than the regular products on the shelf.

This is a good way to try out a bunch of Wet n Wild products at a good price. They are good for travel too. I just wish we had a train case for them. What do you think about the bag?

Have a great day, everyone! Do tell me what you found at your stores, I'd love to hear.

Walmart finds

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

Hi everyone, I have a quick Saturday night post to let you know what deals Walmart is having this week.

If you have been a fan of Revlon ColorBurst lipsticks and didn't take advantage of Rexall 50% off sale months ago (or didn't live near one), now it's time. Walmart has 40% off all Revlon lip products.

ColorBurst retails CAD7.97 at Walmart (quite a difference from other drugstores' price range), now only costs CAD4.78 a piece. I wouldn't feel bad picking up a few.

In the picture, on top are Peach and Carnation, at the bottom is Mauve. The shelf had all the testers so I swatched most of them (minus the really dark shades, they don't work on me).

I was also very excited to find the L'Oreal Infallible, the Stars Collection. Lots of gurus raved about the shade #399 - Beyonce's Red being the perfect long lastic red. I almost thought Canada won't have it, after a few months looking :) I paid full price for this one (CAD11.46), but it's $9.99 in the US already, so that's ok.

Other buys:
- Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream, reg. CAD9.97. It's not on sale but there's a coupon $2 off with purchase of 2 Moisture Rescue items on the display. It gets quite good reviews on blogs, so I wanted to try.

- Biore Purify Steam Activated Cleanser, reg. CAD9.97, on sale for CAD7.97, plus there's a $3 coupon attached to the bottle. So it works out to be half off.

Still no sign of the Wet N Wild holiday collection, they are torturing us :( It's crazy that I always have something I am chasing after, maybe that's what keeps me going, lol.

It rained almost all day today, and Squirt had a skating lesson. I was wet and cold - forgot my hat and mitts for the rink. But I ran into a local reader of the blog last night, which I thought was so cool (Thank you for coming up to talk to me, hun). Never met anyone knowing me through my blog that is from here :)

Have a great weekend, everyone!
