NOTD: Ozotic Pro 513

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

Holographic nail polish to the rescue! It has been a crazy week with temperature fluctuating between -22 and +4 (-8F and 39F). I just desperately needed something cheerful.

And here it is, Ozotic Pro 513. Glad I got some Ozotics way back when so the bottle is round and fat, easy to hold (can't stand the new bottle design now).

The first 2 pics were taken with flash. Like a typical Ozotic holo, 513 shines like crazy when the strong light hits it.

Another angle that show the colour even deeper. I was so in love while taking pics, a big fan of this type of strong linear holo, and it's purple. We can't have too many shades like this.

However... yeah, there is a however with this one. If you remember my previous NOTD of Ozotic Pro 522, it was a liner holo through and through. 513, however, is a shy shade without the sun or yellow light. I only in love with half of how it shows up on my nails during the time I wear it.

This is how it looks indoor, with indirect natural light. You can still see the light holo effect which makes the shade pop a little, not totally flat. Just that it is not the crazy holo I saw under the flash. The same way in the bottle as well, I can tell the difference looking at 513 and 522 bottles, side by side.

If there is a nail polish fairy, I would ask to switch up the holo from 522 to 513, as I love purple a lot more than pink. This is to show that not all shades under one brand are created the same way.

NOTD: Ozotic Pro 609 revisited

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

This is a reswatch of one of the Ozotic shades I own. A few months back, I did a NOTD of Ozotic Pro 609 mentioning it was a shy holo, even under flash. If you don't remember how it looked, feel free to click the link to see my post then.

I love the sparkles in this shade, but wish it had a stronger holo effect. Karen and Jackie suggested swatching it over a silver foil, so I did.

The base is China Glaze Millennium, a very strong foil which only took one coat to full opacity. Then I added 2 coats of Ozotic Pro 609 over top.

The result is much better, isn't it? I'm not sure the holo got any stronger with a base but the shade looked more metallic with a shine. If a single polish could achieve this look, it would be awesome. But I treasure all my Ozotics - as they are just so hard to get a hold of, so I will be using this trick every time I wear those that are not strong enough.

Thank you ladies for giving me the idea. Love getting your comments :)

It was interesting that last time I wore 609, the weather wasn't great. This time, it was raining and windy as well :( It has been like this all week, the Buskers were in town and couldn't get outside to perform. Looks like it's gonna clear up on Friday, just in time for Sephora to take the stage. I will be stopping by the opening ceremony before work. Something to look forward to.

NOTD: Ozotic Pro 609

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

Holo! The world needs more of these shiny blinding nail polish to brighten everyone's day. Why don't they make more? Is it really that hard to make?

Yep, I do need some brightening. Sunday was overcast all day, and probably today as well (started out with some rain). So here is a rainbow: Ozotic Pro 609.

If my pics fail to tell you, this is a shy holo in the shade. Most of the time indoor, it looks like a shimmery metallic silver. Pretty in its own way, but like most of the 600's holo from Ozotic Pro, it is not linear holo without the sun light.

With flash, it shines better, but still the holo is not strong enough to capture on camera. You gotta wear it to see it.

You can see the colour a little better here. Considering how hard it is to get a hold of this brand outside Australia and the price tag, I did have a bit of high hope.

This is 3 coats, still a bit sheer. For some reason, I don't mind it with this shade, as a transparent look somehow works on its favour. I love to wear it to work.

Wear wise, I had a good 2 days and more, until I felt like changing the colour. I guess people would stamp/ nail art it to freshen it up, but I suck at it, so... lol

Here is 609 in the sun. A lot better, right? The holo particles came to life and said hi :) The sun was playing hide and seek at the time I took these pics, and I had to run to the other side of the office for it, as my window faces south, no direct sunshine.

Please click the pictures to enlarge, as the beauty of this colour shows up a lot better there. But yeah, the truth is I would recommend the holos in 500's series (yes, I said this before) as they are a lot stronger and more visible on nails and in pics. Sellers of this brand have been raising the price, and shipping isn't cheap, so get the best shades there are.

This is probably the best close up I can get with 609 in the sun. I do like it and didn't regret getting it. At the time I put in the order, there wasn't many swatches online. I just tried to grab as many as I could afford under "holo" category :)

Maybe next time I'll try it on top of black, or add the holo top coat, see if I can improve the holo effect of it. If I can, this would be an awesome silver holo.

Sorry, couldn't help it to snap a few more pics while the sun was out. My (not so pretty) claws, lol.

How was your weekend? I'm one week away from the trip to Toronto and down south. Getting anxious - I always am, whenever I have to pack. It's gonna be light packing cause Air Canada doesn't feel like giving us 2 free checked in suitcases per person anymore. I have so much shopping planned, also wanted to bring some food home. What to do? :)

Also anxious about going to vote today. I don't care much about politics, don't even know who the candidates are lol. Hope everyone has a good start of the week.

NOTD: Ozotic Pro 617

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

Monday! :) It was raining all day yesterday, we stayed in, so bored. Today it's kinda sunny on and off, thought a holo nail polish is appropriate.

This is Ozotic Pro 617, a beautiful blue shade, almost baby blue leaning to turquoise.

I am so loving my little Ozotic stash, as each colour is pretty in its own way. Like I said before, after trying a few bottles, I realized that the holographic effect in the 500's series is a lot stronger than the 600's. Meaning the 500's are linear holo, the shine is visible even inside, no direct sunlight needed. The 600's only show under right angle of light, and in sunlight. 617 is not an exception.

This is how it looks under flash, and below is with natural light near a window. The colour is true to IRL in the no flash pic, of course.

Like most cases, my camera doesn't pick up the holo sheen well with these full hand type of shots, but at least it shows the pretty colour 617 has.

It is not sheer, this is 3 coats and I don't see VNL. Application is no trouble. I have never had any issues with Ozotic, love them for that (besides the fact that they make awesome multi chromes and liner holos, lol).

The only thing that I'd ask them to do is make all the 600's holo the same way they make the 500's. Strong holos would be heaven on earth for anyone that comes across this brand.

Close up shots. Now the holo comes out to play. I didn't have the sun when I took these pics, so I had to rely on flash to show you the shine. It's there, but it's just camera shy lol. I'd say the holo is stronger than China Glaze Tronica a knot. I did get a few Tronica colours from Sally but then returned them all. Couldn't bear the fact that they cost CAD6 and couldn't deliver holos very well.

I paid $6.50 for this bottle before the price increase. Even after double shipping (from etailer to my friend in Australia and from her to me), it is still worth it. Totally recommend this brand, as I haven't had a shade that I don't like.

So if you are lucky to own the China Glaze Kaleidoscopes and OMGs, you probably won't need 617, unless you like collecting this colour. Like I said, the holo isn't strong in this one, but I love it anyway.

It is a shame that Ozotic Pro is so hard to come by for people who live outside Australia. It seems etailers don't want to risk a fine for shipping hazardous material internationally, except for Picture Polish who somehow scored a shipping permit. They don't carry lots of shades but at least they ship. Thought I should put it out there.

Have a great start of the week. At least it's a short one. I can't wait for the long weekend to just sleep. Don't forget to enter my Sigma Miss Taylor Kabuki giveway.

NOTD: Ozotic Pro 522

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

Hello Monday, hello everyone. This post was supposed to be posted in the weekend but blogger didn't show any of my uploaded pics (even when the HTML codes were there). Blogger is still trying to figure out the problem but suggested a "workaround" solution. So here are my pics, lol.

This stunning holo nail polish is from no other brand than Ozotic Pro.

If you remember what I said in my Ozotic Pro haul post, this brand is known for their multi chromes, and I did show you Ozotic Pro 505 to prove the point. Little did I know that they also have crazy holographic shades that just stun you, even in the shade. This is Ozotic Pro 522.

The first 2 pics were taken at night, with flash. I think my camera freaked out, as it has never seen anything holo like this. If you click to enlarge the pics, you'll see it in full glow.

I tried a few different angles, but pictures came out pretty much the same. The bottle glared so hard, and my nails were just like rainbow under the flash. Don't know if I have any more wonderful words to describe it. I'd love to leave you with just pictures to stare at, but the post looks so empty without words :) So feel free to skip what I'm babbling below and stare at the colour if you like. Though I'll be talking about ordering, new shades, etc. which might be fun to read :)

After seeing this holo, I regret not ordering more. Note that this is a shade from 500's series, which I thought meant multi chromes. I got a few holos from 600's series, but they can't compete with the 500's.

The last 3 pics below were taken in direct sunlight, through a glass window.

If you are contemplating an Ozotic Pro order, or swapping, ask for 500's holo, starting from 511. My order dated way back to last year, so price was actually very reasonable. Even after 2 times shipping cost (the etailer shipped to my friend in Australia, and then she shipped them to me), I can still say that it's worth every penny. The hard part is find someone to get them for you.

I saw that a few of you have recently gone crazy and got China Glaze OMGs and Kaleidoscopes off ebay with quite prices, I totally understand why, with my Ozotic Pro experience :)

Also recently, an Australian etailer mentioned they will soon be allowed to ship nail polish internationally. Too bad they don't sell Ozotic Pro, but at least now we know that it's possible. Before this, etailers were warned not to ship nail polish outside Australia or face a fine - as I was told by the etailer I bought Ozotic Pro from. I emailed them, asking if there is a chance they follow suit with international shipping but haven't heard back. If they do, I'll let you all know.

After seeing this, I have been meaning to take back the China Glaze Tronica to Sally. I meant they aren't bad, but with the weak holo effect and a CAD5.99 price tag, they are no match to Ozotic Pro 500's holos.

I'll be saving my $ and maybe one day, I can place another Ozotic Pro order. I have seen they are coming out with 3 new Elytra shades (528, 529 and 530) that are both glittery and multi-chrome. Crazy enough for you? Feel free to google the swatches to see for yourself. They are a triple yes for me, of course and are in my wish list from the brand. Why don't Ozotic Pro have a website or a twitter account? - so I can bug them to no end until they sell their precious nail polish to me.

One last pic with the bottle glory and my fingers popping in for a shot. I don't normally show this many mani photos, so let 522 be the first to break the record.

How did your weekend go? I had a crappy Saturday with someone standing me up and wasted my time. I went shopping afterward, so I will post a haul soon. The Toronto Beauty Bloggers had a fun meetup yesterday, which I missed out. Maybe one day I will make it there, representing the east coast, lol.

It has been quite sunny in the last few days, but we woke up this morning seeing snow on the ground. A very thin layer though, nothing major like other provinces, still a surprise. Anyway, I'm just happy that I can see the pics now and can finally post them up for you. Let me know what you think about this holo.

NOTD: Ozotic Pro 505

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

I'm on a roll with terrific nail polish. I showed you the flakie goodness of Joe Fresh Twilight in the weekend, and now I am showing you multi-chrome awesomeness of Ozotic Pro 505.

Remember how excited I was when my Ozotic Pro haul arrived, after all that trouble ordering from Australia? A few multi-chromes were missing in that bunch, and great news is they are on the way to me, as we speak :)

I felt like some green, so I picked Ozotic Pro 505 for a mani. Wait till you see how many colours this one shade shows on my nails.

As 505 is sheer on its own, I applied it over Nicole by OPI Blues in the Night, which is a black with blue shimmers. I had pretty good luck with both colours, as they applied very smooth.

The accent finger is still Blues in the Night, with P2 Silver Blast crackling top coat.

Under flash, the green comes out really strong with great shimmers, with black shines around the edges of the nails. Very mesmerizing!

And here it is again, close up. This would be how the mani would look under direct sunlight as well. I did wish for lots of sun when I went out, as I loved the green flash so much.

Not sure the colour of the accent nails worked in this case. Maybe something in the same colour family, green or black would be better, you think?

And if you are done looking at this green, check out the 2 pictures below :) I swear it is the same colour, still 505 all along. You probably guess by now, duochromes and multi-chromes show up very differently in the shade.

These were taken inside, near the window. Crazy 505 now, as all of a sudden, purple and peacock green/ blue came out to play, both in the bottle and on the nails.

Ignore the chip, as I didn't get a chance to take daytime pictures of the mani until 2 days after. If it didn't chip already, I would have worn it all week lol.

What do you think about multi-chrome nail polish now? It's not just me, going crazy over here, is it?

A different angle of light, as a finale show down, lol. Pardon my over the top attitude, I was just too excited.

Have to apologize for showing you this shade, as I said in my haul post, this brand is not very easily accessible this side of the world. Australian etailers do not ship internationally, so your only chance to get any Ozotics is to swap, or ask for a CP like I did. Gotta say it's totally worth it to go through all that trouble though :)

It is sunny out today, and a little warmer. The outdoor skating rink that they built for the Winter Games has been closed for the season, which is so sad. I'd love to take Squirt again, she had a blast last time. Have a great day where you are!

Ozotic Pro haul

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

A little fact for you: If you have heard about Ozotic Pro, you are a nail polish fanatic. And if you make your friend jump through hoops to get you some Ozotic Pro, you are a true nail polish fanatic, lol.

And a true fanatic I am, I finally got them in my hands!!! As you might have known, Ozotic Pro is well known for their multi-chrome nail polish but is very hard to come by.

My "twin sister" helped me order from a seller who only ships within Australia. I went with a few popular shades, and picked the rest out of a few colour charts the seller had. It was a long wait to get them, but of course it was worth it.

The polishes do not disappoint. Here they are looking gorgeous. You see some duplicates there as I'm ordering for some friends too :)

The only thing that upset me was the seller left out 5 of the multi-chromes that I really wanted to try and sent me a bunch of holos instead. I cried a little inside, but it's too late to even think about fixing this. So let's move on to check out what we do have.

First batch: The 500's - Ozotic Pro Multi-chromes. This is the IT shades, what Ozotic Pro is known for. I would get around to them soon enough to show you how fantastic they are.

From L-R: 504, 505, 506 and 520.

Like I said, I ordered another 5 multi-chromes shades in this order which didn't arrive. My head is aching, seriously.

Nonetheless, aren't these pretty or what? I fell in love with them the moment I saw the swatches on blogs. Why are great brands with unique shades/ finishes so hard to come by?

Now the 600's - Ozotic Pro Holos.

First row, from L-R: 501, 607, 609 and 617.
Second row: 619, 621 and 624.

See my problem here? I do love holos but this is ridiculous. Give me my damn multi-chromes!!! To be fair, 617 and all 3 at the bottom are very pretty, but I'm spoiled with China Glaze and Milani holos that I can't stay excited too long over them.

Once I heal my wound over the 500's, promise I will give these holos some love.
And the rest: the 700's - Ozotic Pro Duochromes.
From L-R: 730, 743 and 745.

I didn't order many 700's, as I know I'd be wowed by the 500's. The seller offered wholesale price for 20+ bottles, so I wanted to order a wider range rather than wrapping my head around the multi-chromes alone.

Do you think I'm nuts ordering blindly from blog swatches and drop swatches on the colour charts? But ultimately, online shopping is like that, except that I don't think I can do an exchange or return all the way to Australia, lol. Yeah, I have my moments :)

Do you see any favorite bottle colours yet? Does any pic make your head spin? I know I'm exaggerating but the truth about my head spinning isn't that far off. Have a great day!
