Weekend finds

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

It has been a while since I post a haul, so this was overdue eh? Let's get to it!

Real Techniques was not new at Winners, but I found those new individual brushes that I haven't had, so I grabbed 2.

Here are the Retractable bronzer brush (orange), $14.99 (comparable at $20) and Retractable kabuki brush (pink), $8.99 (comparable at $12).

I was a little concerned seeing the retractable kabubi not as wide/ fluffy but reviews said it was more of a travel version of the Expert face brush, which I liked. Do I need both of these brushes?

Across the street at Marshalls, I got 2 Elf 100 eyeshadow palettes on clearance for $4 - $5 each (reg. $12.99 - $14.99, comparable at $20). Love this price point a lot better :)

I think the black version is still on Elf website for $10, and the white version said "Class of 2014" on it and had more matte shades.

I loved the few marble shades that both palettes had. I know once on the eyes, the marble effect won't be visible, but they are pretty to look at.

I did place an order with Sephora 20% F&F (thanks E for getting me the code) mainly for First Aid Beauty Cheers to Fab Skin set, reg. $60 ($125 value).

Sets are awesome with undeniable savings, not a bad way to be introduced to a brand either.

The set includes:
- Face cleanser (2oz, reg. $12)
- Facial Radiance pads (28's, reg. $14)
- Ultra Repair cream (6oz, reg. $35)
- Ultra Repair Lip therapy (0.5oz, reg. $15)
- Eye Duty Triple remedy (0.34oz, reg. $45).

I wanted the eye cream for forever. With the set, after 20% off, it's like I bought the eye cream and paid $3 for the other 4 items. Even though we Canadians pay 25% more than Americans ($48), I won't complain :)

Other items I grabbed while I was at it:
- Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O' Blushes (reg. $43)
Another great valued set, and my boxed blush stash is almost complete now
- Urban Decay Anarchy Face case (available on the sale page for $23 for a split second)
- And lastly, the Hourglass Ambient blush palette (reg. $67), no explanation needed right?

I still have a few items in the cart, pending another order and kept adding things in/ taking things out. Still have about 2 days to decide. What have you been getting?

I was killing time at Superstore before my gym class and saw a few L'Oreal products on clearance for 50% off.

That were the whole lines of Magic Nude liquid powders, Infallible lip, and Colour Caresse stains, etc., not just selected shades. I don't know if the lines are being revamped or replaced.

I picked up the Magic Nude liquid powder in True Beige, around $8. I am not sure if this is my shade though.

Also grabbed a Joe Fresh Waterproof eyeshadow pencil in Taupe to try as it was 20% off this week (reg. $8). The sticker on the cap said 8 hrs, sounds promising huh?

Lastly, I thought I should include the OPI appearance at Dollarama, if you miss my Weekly Flyer deal update.

The 2 shades I got were Girl Color (a sheer pink jelly with beautiful green shimmer) and Stir-fried Eggplant (dark plum with multi-coloured shimmers). These are rebottled shades so you won't be able to find them in OPI listing, but that does not bother me. Have fun browsing your Dollarama for more.

A small update for Maybelline creamy matte lipsticks: my Target had 3x8 slots (still empty at the time), with a price sticker of $8.99. This might mean we only get 8 shades in the line (3 tubes each) and sadly confirm a reader's comment about not seeing Divine Wine and Craving Coral at her Walmart.

Weekend finds

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

The hauls are back :) I did a bit of shopping last week, have some new fun makeup for you today.

I was excited to find The Body Shop Colour Crush lipsticks. Quite a range of colours and finishes, some even have stain power.

I got 201 Red Hot Raspberry (pearlescent finish), 240 Damson in Distress (matte) and 301 Drive Me Nuts (sparkly), reg. $13. I included the numbers for easy reference, because the tubes only show the numbers, not the names. You have to refer to the receipt or online to get the names.

Pairing the B2G1F sale, a coupon and LYB discount, I paid less than $5 each. Not bad at all! The coupon at the bottom at the receipt is $15 off $40, good until the end of the month, FYI.

And if you like their Extra Virgin Mineral foundations, selected shades are being discontinued, cleared out for 3/$10.

I got the lightest shade in the discontinued range, 302 Golden Beige, in both cream and liquid form.

I added the Dazzling Rocks to get the deal, only shade 1 Golden Copper was available at my store. I forgot to take the lid of before taking the pic, but it's basically a mix of bronze and gold little rocks with shimmers, meant to be used on the face and body. Nice to have for that price.

This is a tiny little haul is from Lawtons, one of the rare occasions that I can run in quickly to check for new displays and sales. I don't live near a Lawtons anymore, you see?

Sinful Colors is on sale for $1.99, including the latest Leather Luxe collection. The only shade I wanted is Leather Loose, surprisingly was not sold out already.

Revlon lip products are 50% off this week. I went for a Super Lustrous gloss in Kiss Me Coral, only $4.74.

Superstore here had tax free on Saturday, I couldn't help grabbing a few things.

Maybelline Baby Lips were $3.97 each, I wanted Pink Shock and Berry Bomb from the Electro collection. Love the packaging.

Joe Fresh Fall 2013 nail polish are in, noticeable with the orange "New cap" stickers (not new shape, just new curvy ridges underneath the cap). They are 4/$10 until October 3 (reg. $4 each or 3/$10).

The 2 shades in the middle are duochrome-looking - Copper and Quartz. Not particularly unique but I wanted to try anyway.

The other 2 are Ultra Violet and Aqua. I also found Peacock with the same orange sticker, I'd assume they brought it back with the new cap because it was popular.

My local Shoppers Beauty Boutique carries Shiseido, so I redeemed some points in the Super Redemption event for a Perfect Rouge lipstick in RS320 Fuchsia, $30.

This shade has been talked about a lot on YT. I do like how creamy it was on my hand when swatched, and the colour (hot pink/ fuchsia) is definitely easy to sell, at least to me :)

Also got a Perfect Prep kit with the Refining primer and the Perfect foundation brush, $40 (valued $73). Can't say I tried any Shiseido makeup or brushes before, so I'm excited.

I had some Almay coupons and the Color + Care liquid lip balms were on sale for $6.99 at the time. I swatched them all, trying to find ones with better pigmentation (they are sheer). Ended up with Lilac Love and Apple a Day. One is purple (enough said) and one is red (more unique than the pinks and nudes).

Also wanted to check out the new Essence Stays No Matter What eyepencil & shadows. The line has 6 shades, and I heard good things. Went for Powerful Purple, $2.99. If they can get purple eyeshadows right, the other shades would be piece of cake. We'll see.

I went looking for the new Hard Candy nail polish at Walmart. Glad to see that they update the line. 9 new shades are a good reminder to attract us back to the display, don't you think?

The first two are Pop Rocker and Jaw Breaker from the Candy Sprinkles collection, $3.98 each. The other 2 new shades of this line (Sweet Tart and Candy Coated) are just the pale pink and blue versions of Jaw Breaker. The glitter combinations might be slightly different, but I don't think I need all 4.

The third polish I got is Emerald's Eve from the Crystal Confetti, quite glowy and fun.

Their Top Ten eyeshadow collections got mixed reviews but it seems Green with Envy is the best among the 5 colour options. For $5.98, I decided to try it out for myself. If you tried it, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.

Anything you want to see a review on?

- All Tied Up (Bikini So Teeny summer collection)
- Don't Sweater It (Stylenomics fall collection), and
- Power Clutch (Brand New Bag collection - Fall 2011).

I haven't been getting any Essie lately, might go back for more. I don't really care what collections they are.

Sally Hansen Real nail polish strips (selected) are CAD7.97 this week too, if you need any.

So head on to your Superstore/ Loblaws and check out the cosmetic section before the flyer changes.

Weekend finds

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

It is a good shopping week, thought I should post this up early so you have time to hunt around. It's the long weekend for Canadians, I will probably not around the comp tomorrow. Sunday post it is!

Exiting news first. This is what Canada has been waiting for, since the products were released in the US - Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. Words on twitter confirmed that people had been seeing these showing up at their Superstore/ Loblaws, but I didn't see them until this weekend. It's too new that no price stickers have been put on it even.

Update: The price for these is $8.99, thanks to a few readers letting me know. Glad I can show you what the display looks like. There are slots for 12 shades, only one tester of Lovesick for the whole display. Therefore, make sure to check out swatches before you head out, so you know which shade you want.

While we are at Superstore, I might as well tell you a great sale they are running this week (if you didn't notice it in my Weekly flyer deals post - Coppertone, Hawaiian Tropic, Banana Boat, Ombrelle and President's Choice sunscreens are 50% off.

I got the Coppertone Water Babies  (lightweight) mousse SPF60 and Banana Boat Kids sunscreen lotion SPF100 (the second highest level of SPF I have seen, after the Neutrogena SPF110), price ranged between $4.50 - $5 after discount. Great time to go grab some, as you never have enough sunscreen.

At Shoppers, I found the whole Quo skin care line  on sale for $8.99 (reg. $15- $20). The SA confirmed that it was not discontinued, maybe a repackaging plan. I thought it was a good time to try these out.
- Quo Hydrating Night cream (50ml)
- Quo Brightening serum (50ml), and
- Quo Daily Moisturizing lotion (95ml).

There are also an eye cream and a cleanser, I think. Love the sleek metal packaging, the tube has a little window stripe on the side to indicate product usage, which is useful. I still don't like the jar packaging, don't get why they can't make it in the tube form with a pump like others.

More stuff on sale at Shoppers:
- Vaseline Total Moisture Cocoa Radiant lotion (295ml) $2.99. There's a stack of $1 coupons placed right on the shelf for it
- Organix Moroccan Argan oil (100ml) $4.99
- Organix Coconut Milk Anti-breakage serum (118ml) $4.99.

Organix shampoos and conditioners are on sale for the same price too but I had stocked up enough, so this time just some oil and serum. Can't recall seeing this deal in the flyer, or maybe I just missed it. Anyway, if you have been wanting to try out the brand, go now!

I was excited to find these Revlon Photo Ready Cream blushes on clearance at Lawtons for $3.87 each. I bought Flushed, Coral Reef and Pinched. Totally had a big lemming on them when they first came out, couldn't bring myself to pay full price :)

And Annabelle face products were 25% off this week, just the right time to bring Annabelle BB cream home to test out. As I mentioned before, the display has $2 coupons, good for any Annabelle BB cream product. That softens the price tag from $15.99 to $9.99. Those who don't lilve near a Lawtons, watch the sale to grab this goodie for a good price.

And finally, Ardene. The old Ardene outlet in town was moved down a few doors to become a huge new store (no indication of an "Outlet" anymore). But the deals they offer are really amazing. In the pic is 2 of the 5 pairs I got for $2 each (part of the 5 for $10 deal).

I'm still shocked at how much stuff Ardene has to offer - neon/ animal printed flats, heels, swimsuits, jewelry, clothing, etc. at reasonable prices.

Before I forget, Claire's 10 for $10 is on, plus a Bonus Buck offer: Spend $20 from now till August 25 and get a $10 off $20 card redeemable from August 26 till September 16.

Similar offer is Old Navy Super Cash - From now till August 29, spend $25 and get $10 Super Cash redeemable with $25 purchase between September 7 and 12 (or spend $50 and get $10 Super Cash to use with the next $50 purchase), in stores only.

Pick and choose what deals you want to take advantage of :)

Weekend finds

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

I had a successful trip to the store last night, so as promised, here are what I have been collecting all around town since the last week or two. And there are coupon info at the end you don't want to miss.

This first piece of sale info is for my local readers. The Bay near the mall is closing down and clearing out stuff for 40% off on last ticketed prices (exclude cosmetics and fragrances, lol). I of course went with stuff previously on clearance for best savings.

This little beauty is Nine West Maribella slingback, reg. CAD120, clearance price was $59.99. I paid 35.99. My ankles are not very strong, so I was happy to see the heels at the acceptable height. Can't rock sky-high shoes, for the sake of beauty lol.

The shoes were sorted out by size, so I was happy to find another pair to accompany my Nine West. The section for my size wasn't that big to beginning with, mostly flats.
This second pair is Sam & Libby Expire open-toed booties, last sale price was $39.99 (no tag to show original price), and I paid $23.99.

There were fall/ winter jackets, household/ bedding stuff, etc. I got Squirt a shirt with cute prints on the front, not much left at the children department.

Also on the closing sale front, the chain of Suzy Shier, Stiches and Sirens at the mall is moving out as well. Almost everything is $10 or less, no winter/ spring jackets though. I got a few dresses, but wasn't lucky with the shoes - sizes were picked over. A little bird told me we might get a Sephora, Hollister, H&M or something to fill the empty space at the mall soon.

From Shoppers, my favorite place to shop, I got a few Dermaglow products. Selected items have been on sale for 30% off, but these 2 weren't but there was a promo nonetheless.

- Glycolic 10% Gentle Peel Solution (150ml) with bonus Glycolic Smoothing Moisturizer (5ml), CAD50. I grabbed it on the day the brand rep was at the store to give out $10 off coupons.

- Lash Enhance Growth & Conditioning Treatment (5.5ml) bonus pack, CAD65. I wouldn't pay full price for a single product, but as it was 2-in-1, I didn't feel too bad.

I was given some samples too: Glycolic Smoothing Moisturizer (5ml), Perfecting Treatment (10ml), Anti-aging Tinted Moisturizer (5ml) and Advanced Moisturizing Cream (5ml). Can't wait to try everything out.

In case you haven't heard, there are certain Physician's Formula items with full rebate stickers on the packaging, which means you get to try them for free.

I certainly wouldn't pass up the opportunity.
- Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum in Ultra Black, CAD12.99

- Organic Wear Jumbo Lash Mascara in Ultra Black Organics, CAD12.99.

This is a mail-in rebate offer, so you do have to do a bit of work to get your money back. No rush to get them though right away though, cause they give you quite a few months to buy the products and mail in the forms. Just don't forget to do it when you do get the products, lol.

Other random stuff I wanted to try:
- Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark-circle Roller in Sheer Tint, on sale for CAD13.99. There seems to be a Light shade as well, but I can't tell which one is darker.

- L'Oreal Double Extend Eye Illuminator Mascara in Black Quartz (for brown eyes), on sale for CAD9.79. This mascara came in 4 different colour of the illuminator end.

I gave in for the hypes, you see? I heard good things about both of these products, was glad to get them while they were on sale.
Now we're getting to the really exciting part. In the last few weeks, I have been running around trying to find the gems you see in the picture below. Only selected (not all) Shoppers receive the display, and it is LE, so these products become HTFs (hard to find's), at least where I am.

From top to bottom:
- Annabelle Lip marker/ Lip stain in Tangofolie, reg. CAD9.49
- Annabelle Smoothie Eyeshadow pencils in Grapefull, BluBomb, Absinthe-Minded, Melonade and MokaMirage, reg. CAD8.99 each.

I was really really excited to find the display at the last Shoppers I checked, and grabbed all 5 shades of the pencils. Annabelle is 25% off this week, and I used $1 coupons attached to the display, I got myself a bargain.

I will sure wear the hell out of these, to make it worth the hunt . Review coming soon.

On to Superstore. My store has recently introduced the "Beauty Saving Board". It's the "Coupon zone" specifically for cosmetics and is placed near the cosmetics section, not near the store entrance.

A great coupon to start is BOGO on Joe Fresh lip products (cream/ matte lipsticks, lip stains, lip glosses, lip glasses, lip balms and lip crayons), good until Friday, April 8.

I jumped on the offer, obviously. From top to bottom:
- Joe Fresh Sheer Lip crayons in Candy and Apple
- Joe Fresh Lip stains in Watermelon and Grapefruit.

These are regularly CAD6 each. Quite a saving with BOGO eh?

Other coupons found on the board: $2 off Cover Girl, Revlon/ Almay, Maybelline, L'Oreal cosmetics and Sally Hansen nail polish/ nail treatment/ nail tools, with the same expiry date - April 8.

Watch the flyer (or my Weekly flyer deals posts) for sale info on products you want to get, and take advantage of the coupons at the same time. Win!

Quite a long post, phewww. If you stay until the end, kudos. Do tell if you take advantage of any of these good deals, or if you find any great new products in stores lately. I'm all ears.

Weekend finds

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

Another post in the weekend finds series :) I was wandering around here and there, there are a few good deals I want to share.

Lawtons has 30% off EcoTools this week (till Thursday), plus they had the bonus x10 Airmiles offer on Saturday, so I grabbed a few. The biggest discount so far I've seen on the brand.
- 6-piece bamboo Eye brush set with a large eye brush, angled crease brush, petite eye shading brush, highlighting brush, smudge brush and the case with mirror, CAD11.19 after discount.
I'm still deciding to keep this set or not. They are kinda small compared to the regular size. If you have it, let me know what you think.

-  Bamboo deluxe concealer brush and Eye shading brush, CAD3.49 each.

She's G.A.L (Got a Look) is a brand that I never heard of before. Have seen it at Lawtons lately, the brushes look really cute with the purple accent colour on the bristles and handles. Price point is quite high, CAD10 and up for a single brush.

This 4-piece brush set was 50% off, I paid CAD12.99. They are supposed to be handcrafted, with chrome-plated handles and softest synthetic fibers. For the price, I don't think it's a bad bargain.

A quick google search showed that Ulta in the US carries the line, similar price range. However, there is no info on the manufacturer or company's website, so that's all I know about it.

Wanna guess what these are?

I caught a glimpse of them on the shelf at Claire's 10 for $10 sale, loved the lace print on baby pink background. As you know, Claire's serves young adult clientele, so I didn't expect this kind of "elegant" packaging.

I automatically went and opened them all up to see what "gems" were inside :)

They are eyeshadow palettes with quite good colour combinations and cute patterns on the surface of each shadow.

I found 3 different sets. Top left corner is smokey dark blue and grey, bottom left is neutral (baby pink, beige, plum) and on the right is for a purple night look.

They still have protective plastic sleeves on, and are too pretty to touch so I haven't swatched them yet. I have high hope for them though :) If you find them, make sure to open the lid to check the content, as some palettes I found with the eyeshadows all shattered.

Found these rings at an Ardene outlet which is running 70% off the whole store (from original price), couldn't pass them up.

They are originally CAD4.50 a piece, normally on sale 3 for CAD10 which isn't bad already, 70% off is even better. I can't confirm if the same sale applies to regular Ardene stores though because the one I went to was an outlet.

The only ring in top left corner is actually from Suzy Shier for 75% off, very bling-y. There are great sales going on for lots of things in store, I got a few basic long-sleeve T-shirts for CAD2.50. If you haven't been to the store lately, go check the sale out.

And these are some random nail polishes I found on clearance at Superstore.

My local reader, Duochrome Diva, told me that there were some on sale for 50% off. I paid between CAD2-4 each for them. There was no sale tags on them at my store, so scan the price to make sure they are on sale in your store too.
- Sally Hansen Complete Salon Downtown Rubies
- Nicole by OPI Spark My Mistletoe
- L'Oreal Luminescence.

The Nicole by OPI holiday collection was 50% off too but I didn't like any of the colours.

And last but not least, this Neutrogena Clinical Anti-Aging System Starter kit was free (well, after rebate), valued anywhere from CAD37-55 depending where you look :)

Superstore was offering full-rebate form for all Neutrogena Clinical kits at the Coupon Zone in the last 2 weeks, so it's over now. But you still have time at Walmart (the rebate form is attached to the packaging already) and Shoppers (the form is available at cashier), so head over there if you want to try this line out. Keep an eye on the rebate period so you don't miss out.

Hope you like my little tidbits here and there. I didn't get them all in one day, could have put them up sooner if my cat Oreo didn't have an emergency (Feline Idiopathic Cystitis, if you want to know) in the weekend. He seems fine now but I have to keep an eye on him, give him meds (which wasn't an easy task at all until I could find some pill pockets to trick him). Needless to say, my weekend was not fun. Hope yours were better.

Boxing Day haul

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

Yep, I braved the crazy mall today for Boxing Day sale. We didn't make it inside the mall (parking was such a pain) until almost noon, I didn't have time to haul clothing except for 2 items at GAP (they had 40% off before noon). This post is picture heavy, just to warn you ahead.

The Body Shop wasn't a planned stop but turned out to be great.

They had up to 60% off on gift sets and selected items. This Love Etc. set was originally CAD68 (valued $85), on sale for CAD30 before the Love Your Body 10% discount. Great deal, considering it comes with 4 full sized items:
- Body wash (200ml)
- EDP (50ml)
- Body butter (200ml), and
- Body lotion (200ml).

The individual products from the set were not on sale, so buying them in a set at a sale price makes perfect sense :)

The Body Shop also ran the promo with the Joy to the World bag: Buy the bag for $5 ($2 goes to charity) and get 30% off items that fit in it - excludes gift sets.

Now this would not make as good of a deal as the 50% discount with the bag before Christmas IF selected items weren't already discounted. Let me break it down for you.

The 3 Body butters (full sized) in the pics were on sale today for CAD10 each, and the Spa Wisdom Body balm was only CAD5 (all were full prized before Christmas). With the extra 30% with the bag and LYB discount, you do the math :)

And even more fabulous, selected makeup items were 3 for CAD10 (same idea, before 30% off and 10% LYB). I was so excited to find the Cheek and Face powder there, as it was CAD21 regularly and sold out in my store back in Halifax.

Also found the Cheek Blush stamp, a very hard to find item. I grabbed the Body & Leg Shine (reg. CAD18.50) to try out too, heard good things about it.

All 3 for a bit over $6, this is the "3 for CAD10" sale at its best lol. The $5 spent for the bag was well worth it.

This bunch was the result of a quick stop at Icing. They sometimes had "5 for CAD10" sale which included some nail polish. These 5 shades, however, were 5 for $5, same sale price point with Claire's. I wouldn't complain :)

From L-R: Golden Child, Manic Monday, Grape A Licious, Putty Concrete and Lady Lucky (matte).

I didn't find anything at Claire's, but found that both stores have 75% off holiday items. If you are looking for some cheap buys, check them out.

And next stop: Bath & Body Works. I wanted to get some 3-wick candles for the apartment but the scents I wanted were either sold out or weren't offered. Selected candles were 2 for CAD20 or 50% off (reg. CAD21.50), mostly fall scents.

I went for Wallflowers - a single bulb of Mint Chocolate (CAD4), a 2-pack of Winter Garland (CAD8) and the Chrome Green Tree plug (CAD4). There was a wide range of holiday scents for wallflowers to choose from, better than the candles obviously.

A few more small items:
-Shea-infused double-layered lounge socks, CAD3. Very soft, love them!
- Selected Pocket Bacs 5 for CAD5 - I got Apple Mint and Cocoa Mint (from the Reindeer line) and Lemon Glaze (from the Cupcakes line)
- 2 free Signature Collection travel sized items (with coupon, 1 per purchase - I went to 2 stores as I couldn't find the Pocket Bacs I wanted at the first one) - Black Amethyst Fragrance mist and Japanese Cherry Blossom Body lotion (88ml each). These would come in handy for sure.

Walmart was certainly a mad house. I headed to the seasonal shelves for the 50% off sale.

Did find a few bath sets that would make good gifts when I go home, so no pics of them. But what I can show you is this fabulous Burt's Bee Radiance Bath set with 2 full sized items:

- Radiance Body lotion with Royal Jelly (175ml)
- Radiance Body wash with Royal Jelly and Jojoba Beads (350ml).

Less than CAD10 after the discount, like I got the Body lotion (reg. CAD14.99) for free, and this lotion was the main reason I got the set. So happy!

And you might not expect this, but I went to Superstore too. Walmart wasn't the only place that put 50% discount on holiday gift sets.

These Joe Fresh Large Bath sets were CAD20 originally, I always wanted to try them out when I saw them in store. Certainly a set is a great way to do that, especially when they are on sale.

I found Marine (blue) and Grapefruit (pink), but Joe Fresh Bath comes in 4 other scents: Lime (green), Nectarine (orange), Lemon (yellow) and Pomegranate (red).

Each set includes 5 full sized items (Body wash, Body balm, Body polish, Body spray, Hand soap) and a scrubbie. I'm sold.

More gift set :) This is from Olay, comes with:

- Olay Deep Cleansing Face wash (207ml)
- Olay Quench Body lotion (350ml)
- Olay Classic Moisturizing lotion (177ml)
with bonus Olay Replenishing Night creme (60ml) and a puff.

Nothing special here, except it was half price :) I tried to look for other combos but the shelf was already picked over - a popular scene on Boxing Day. But wait until I get to the good part of the haul, lol.

Joe Fresh lip gloss and nail polish :) These are holiday sets, so of course they were on sale too.

The Fresh Glass set of 5 minis was CAD10 originally. Available in 3 colour combos, but the other 2 had a clear colour which I don't know what to do with, so I picked this set (Warm toned)

And remember the nail polish trios I mentioned before? Now is a great time to get them :)

Set on the left is red toned, with Wine, Sweet Tart and Cherry from L-R. Set on the right has Midas, Imperial and Dupioni. If you need more reasons to go get these, check out the bottle comparison with some of these shades on Enamored Enamel.

Other notable sales that I saw:
- La Senza "10 for CAD30" undies and 50% off selected bras
- Lush: BOGO on holiday items/ sets and selected soaps (not Buy 1 get 2 free as last year)
- Fruit & Passion: 40% off the whole store, including gift sets
- Sephora: selected items were on sale, not that great though.

The bf found some good deals on video games and GAP clothing items, so we both left the mall happy. Tired though :) We promised Squirt to Build-A-Bear, so another update might be up tomorrow. Have a good one!

New products spotted

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

Have you been browsing around your drugstores lately? Tune in to see what I found recently at mine :) Good stuff, I promise.

I found this lovely display at one of the Shoppers I went. Click the pic to enlarge :) Can you tell what the line is?

Yep, the Sally Hansen Natural Beauty, inspired by Carmindy, has officially arrived at Shoppers :)

As far as I can see, we have quite a good selection of their products.

- First shelf: Your Skin makeup foundation, Airbrush Spray makeup and Luminizing Face primer.
- Second shelf: Luminous Matte Pressed powder, Translucent Loose powder, Natural Highlighter.
- Third shelf: Sun Glow Powder bronzer, Powder/ Cream blush
- Fourth shelf: Eyeliner, Gloss
- Last shelf: Eyeshadow and Mascara.

I was in a hurry, didn't note down the price. According to Carmindy on twitter, she is showcasing the line on The Shopping Channel as well. More access for us Canadians.

Also found the 3-piece Holiday nail polish sets from Joe Fresh, retail CAD10 each.

There are 3 colour combinations to choose from.
- Left set: Midas, Imperial and Dupioni. This is probably the set I would get, as I kinda like all 3 shades.
- Middle set: Onyx, Steel and Beet - Steel and Onyx are quite similar, except one has pretty shimmer. Beet is a cream burgundy.
- Right set: Cherry, Sweet Tart and Wine. A little too much red to my liking, but if you are a fan of the colour(s), this is not a bad set for the holiday.

Joe Fresh nail polish are 3 for $10 anyway, so the sets aren't a saving, and you also don't have a choice of what colours to get in a set. I assume these colours are LEs though, as I didn't see them before from the regular line. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Another item that caught my eyes was the Joe Fresh 5-pc Acrylic Brush set, retails CAD19.

By the look of it, the set includes:
- Blush brush (reg. CAD10)
- Concealer brush (reg. CAD4)
- Large eyeshadow brush (reg. CAD5)
- Crease brush (reg. CAD4), and
- Eyeliner brush (reg. CAD4).

Cost wise, this set is good for your money, as you basically get the 2 small brushes for free. I didn't compare the size of these to the individual brushes Joe Fresh has, but I don't think they are minis/ travel size either.

I kinda wish they include the foundation brush, but it would probably jack up the price of the set too much, a hard selling point for it. Can't say I tried their brushes before, can't comment on the quality.

And look, Superstore, for some miracle reason, all of a sudden stocks Wet n Wild LE collection. This is the latest Vixen's Mittens, sells for CAD2.99 a bottle.

I didn't expect Canada would have it that fast, but here we are :)

A warning though, these bottles are very tiny (6.5ml, if I remember correctly). The colours are nice though, very glittery/ shiny, some are quite unique.

Have you seen them around yet?

I have been in a crazy hunt for Annabelle's Hype and Insomnia collections. For some reason, my regular Shoppers (and some others) did not have them, period.

Now look what I found at Superstore: the Insomnia collection, lol.

It's unpredictable what Superstore would have on their shelves, LE or not, so it's kinda exciting not knowing what to expect (well, sometimes) :)

I had a fun time browsing the displays. Would have played around a bit more if I didn't have to go upstairs for the gym - it was Zumba time, couldn't miss it :)

One more interesting find of the week: Wet n Wild Beauty bags, CAD10.

This is the Canadian version of the Wet n Wild train cases that the Americans have been lusting after. No train case here, just a clear plastic bag, lol.

I took pictures of both sides of the bag to show you the shades. All bags are the same, i.e. there is only 1 choice of colour combo.

The front features a Beauty Simplicity Look, with:
- Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio Sweet as Candy
- Color Icon Blusher Pearlescent Pink
- Mega Last nail colour in Sugar Coat
- Mega Last lip colour in Think Pink
- Mega Length mascara in Very Black.

The back goes for a Hollywood Glam Look:
- Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio Don't Steal My Thunder
- Color Icon Blusher Heather Silk
- Mega Last nail colour in Caught Red-Handed
- Mega Last lip colour in Stoplight Red
- Mega Plump mascara in Very Black.

Note that all products in the bag are not full size. They are all a bit smaller than the regular products on the shelf.

This is a good way to try out a bunch of Wet n Wild products at a good price. They are good for travel too. I just wish we had a train case for them. What do you think about the bag?

Have a great day, everyone! Do tell me what you found at your stores, I'd love to hear.
