Anabelle volumelip

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

Remember the Annabelle 4Show Eyeshadows I reviewed a week or two ago? At the same launch with them was 4 new shades of the Annabelle volumelip Lip Plumping gloss. And I have them for you today.

From top to bottom: Coralicious, So Sanguine, Plum(p)tastic and Au Currant.

Now, I reviewed the volumelip with old packaging, and those that came with the Hype Collection last year. Great to see they come out with more shades for the line, as these glosses are so fun to play with.

Here are the swatches with flash. They are shiny but not glittery, catching the light quite well. They are also sheer, work perfect on top of a lipstick, but also awesome on bare lip for just a light wash of colour. If your lips are naturally pink, you are blessed as these will be like icing on the cake lol.

On lazy days or when I don't want much makeup on, I'd just swipe one of these on and go. They aren't sticky, sometimes I don't even remember I have them on my lips.

Natural lighting here. The colours are pretty much the same as how they look with flash, except for So Sanguine being a little more red than orange.

Annabelle said volumelip glosses have temporary volume-boosting plumping effect thanks to the lipopeptide-based amino acid complex. They don't create the uncomfortable tingling feeling which I'm glad. And they are moisturizing, with vitamin E for antioxidant properties.

Coralicious on me is a nude gloss with a slight hint of pink. It is very pretty on, especially when I prime my lips with a bit of lip liner filled in. I reach for it very often lately, when I don't feel like using a lipstick. When it wears off (well, it's a gloss, it won't stay on forever), I just touch up with a lipstick on top.

So Sanguine has better pigmentation, and it's buildable too. This is just 2 coats of it, nothing underneath. Without a flash, it looks red on me. Can't believe I say this, but a sheer red is pretty, lol. I hardly wear anything sheer, fearing that the dark lips would ruin the pretty colour that the product has. It doesn't look too bad here, does it?

And going on to the darker side, Plum(p)tastic. I don't normally wear colours like this, as it enhances the dark tone on my lips. But lately, I'm branching out to fuchsia colour family and getting myself used to darker shades. I don't know if Plum(p)tastic looks good on me, but I get brownie points for trying, right?

Au Currant is the darkest, which doesn't really belong to a spring collection, I think. For the purpose of this review, I swatch it by itself, of course. But for me, I would have to mix it with another colour to create a shade that I'm comfortable to wear. It might look different on you.

Hope the review helps you in deciding on a shade that you might like, if you are planning to get a volumelip or two. They are on sale quite often at Shoppers.
