Marcelle Ideal Skin perfector

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

You probably remember me mentioning that I was "living" in Marcelle BB and DD cream all summer, getting away with not wearing any moisturizer and primer.

Well, until Marcelle Ideal Skin perfector was sent over and took a spot in my morning routine :)

Described as a skin tone and texture daily corrector, Ideal Skin perfector is said to be the skin care version of BB cream. To me, BB creams is already the "makeup - skin care hybrid", so Ideal Skin perfector fits in as a primer, before I apply the BB/ CC/ DD cream or foundation.

The tube packaging works well with this type of product, and that little pink soft-touch tip is gentle enough that you can apply the product to the face directly from the tube.

Applied morning and/or night before your serum and/or moisturizer, the product is supposed to perfect and correct your skin tone, dark spots, pores and fine lines for an even complexion and a reduced look of discoloration, enlarged pores, fine lines.

Skin tone is definitely evened out with Ideal Skin perfector with each application. I only used it in the morning though, not at night, for this purpose. Fine lines and pores look slightly less visible but only for a short term and in combination of an eye cream. It will probably take months and constant usage to prove if the effect is long term.

Dark spots are another story, as you know they are persistent and hard to deal with. Can't say I notice a change on my dark spots with just this product on.

So, most Ideal Skin perfector's claims still need time to prove themselves, but it works well for me as a primer :) With it on, my BB and DD creams go on and blend so easily, save me time in the morning, and last longer. I'll keep using it this way, and if the skin care benefit comes into play, that's a bonus.

Here is Ideal Skin perfector (left), very similar in texture to Make Up For Ever HD Microperfecting primer in 0 (middle), slightly thicker. Ingredients are not the same, FYI. Marcelle BB cream in Medium to Dark (right) is there mainly for my curiosity :)

Ingredients: Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate Filtrate, Butylene Glycol, Xylitylglucoside, Dimethicone/ Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Panthenol, Phenoxyethanol, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38, Anhydroxylitol, Lens Esculenta (Lentil) Seed Extract, Biosaccharide Gum-1, etc.

Ideal Skin perfector is perfume, gluten and paraben free, recognized by Canadian Dermatology Association's Skin Health program, tested on women of various ages and ethnicities. The tube is 1oz/ 30ml, retails $24.95.

  2. Pores and dark spots are the hardest. It takes 30 days of twice-daily use. And dark spots are permanent stains so we must permanently work at eliminating them and covering them with SPF. I know because I have them too! I will go and cry a little now. :oP
