A new brand coming in Lawtons this month - ColorEvolution from the US. New to me, definitely!

It has been a while since I dived in mineral makeup, mostly due to laziness. I started out with mineral eyeshadows and love them for the vibrancy on the lids, but then pressed eyeshadows happened lol.

It is a brave move of Lawtons to bring in a mineral makeup brand. I was sent a good amount of products to test out. Let's see if they rekindle my love for them.

First bunch is a mineral blush in Desert Dusk and 2 mineral eyeshadows in Mint Ice and Grape.

The colours are right up my alley and quite on trend too - peachy cheeks, earthy or darker eyes.

The packaging is standard for mineral makeup - plastic jars with a clear lid, sifter with clear sticker to avoid spillage. I normally peel the sticker about half way, just enough to stick my brush in, as I prefer a neat looking jar and don't want all the pigment pooled up at the top. All jars have safety seals, bonus point!

Here they are with the lids off, and swatched.

The blush does not have any shimmers, quite pigmented, with reasonable wear time. 4.5g for $14, mid drugstore price range. The eyeshadows, on the other hand, have beautiful sheen, are easy to blend and last quite well on top of a primer. They retail $8 each for 3g of product.

On to 2 face products.

The mineral foundation is in Sandstone. the second lightest shade in the range. $18 for 10g. The mineral pressed powder is in Light.

Since both shades are too light for me, I only tested these products at home and don't see the point of swatching them.

What I can tell you is they are great for what they are. I use the foundation as setting powder with added coverage and found it worked similarly to the pressed powder. It would come down to what format you prefer, loose or pressed.

Next, 2 Vitamin infused glosses in Bedazzled and Papaya, and a concealer & eyeshadow base in Fair, $12 each for 3oz/ 9g.

The square tubes are identical between the 2 lines, so make sure you read the label before applying. Especially in this case, Bedazzled is just a bit darker than Fair but at least you can tell by the shimmers :)

What helps is that the glosses have a brush applicator (which I don't like, to be honest) and the concealer has a doe foot tip (easier for application, to me).

The beautiful shimmers in the glosses definitely shine through on the lips, but they work better as a layer gloss instead of on their own. And they are, unfortunately, a little sticky.

The concealer/ eyeshadow base is white on me, but unlike the powders above, it works fine blended out. The texture is quite thick, so blending with a synthetic brush seems to work better than my fingers.

With a light hand and a tiny amount, the concealer does a decent job under the eyes without creasing or migrating. As an eyeshadow base, one dot is enough for the whole eye lid up to the brow bone, double duty. And it is a perfect base for the eyeshadows above.

This product surprised me the most of how well it worked!
