FOTD: Maybelline Age Rewind

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

I know this is not a very traditional FOTD, but it was the weekend and I wanted to experiment with pinks and reds more since my Snake look.

Featuring in this post is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind line, with:
- The Lifter Lifting effect foundation in Natural Beige
- The Eraser Dark Spot concealer + treatment in Light/ Medium, and
- The Perfector Skin Perfecting powder and smoothing primer in Light/ Medium.
As mentioned in the review, I normally use all 3 products for more benefit and coverage.

Other Maybelline products used:
- Dream Lumi Touch highlighting concealer in Buff
- Dream Bouncy blush in Plum Wine.
Yes, I still think these are a good duo to pair with for any look. I use the concealer almost every day anyway.

Other face products:
- Sunscreen: La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL cream SPF60
- Serum: Vichy LiftActiv Serum 10
- Moisturizer: L'Occitane Immortelle Precious cream
- Primer: Annabelle CC Instant Perfecting base in Luminous and Natural finish
- Bronzer: Annabelle Zebra bronzing powder in Haute Gold
- Lips: L'Oreal Colour Caresse wet shine stain in Coral Tattoo
- Brows: Yves Rocher eyebrow pencil in Brown.

Again, Annabelle CC Luminous finish is quite subtle and can be used all over the face under the foundation. But when I have some time, I use it where I want to highlight on the face and leave the rest for the Natural finish to work its magic.

For the eyes:
- Eyeshadow base: Make Up For Ever Aqua cream in #5 Peach
- Eyeshadows: Annabelle Zebra trio eyeshadow in Exotic Escape (the pink and purple) and MUA (Makeup Academy) palette in Poptastic (the red and pink), Annabelle single eyeshadow in Aura on the brow bone
- Eye liner: Annabelle Smoothie eyeshadow pencil in Grapeful and Annabelle Smudge liner in Chichi Girl
- Mascara: Annabelle Expandable mascara in Black.

Annabelle has taken over my makeup routine lately, with so many products I keep finding in my stash lol. The other day, some of us Canadians complained about sites that charged crazy amount to ship here. I am just happy that we always have easy access to Canadian brands like Annabelle.

On other note, what is on your Sephora shopping list for Chic Week?

  1. Your FOTD's have inspired me to delve into the world of eye makeup *bites nails nervously* I noticed the brush set sales you posted - I'm very new to eye makeup so if you ever have time a post about different brushes / what they are used for and/or how to create different looks (other than the cool snake look since I've already taken notes!) would be appreciated!

    1. Norma, I love eye makeup the most out of everything else on my face :) It's ok to be nervous, it took me a long time to get the hang of it and I am still making mistakes all the time. I'm not sure I'd be the right person to do how-tos but I'll include more details with the eyes in future FOTDs.

For brushes, to start out, you only need a flat brush to apply the eyeshadows, a crease brush to blend and a more fluffy brush for brow bone highlight. Besides the main purpose that they are meant for though, experiment and find other uses. That's the fun of it :)

  2. Thanks! That helps, there are so many brushes out there, it's confusing and intimidating. More details if you have time would be awesome and great:)

    1. Sure, I'll do that. One more tip: brushes with the name printed right on the handle would eliminate the guess work :)
