I was sick like a dog this past weekend, coughing my heart out, couldn't sleep, then was a zombie the morning after. Not pretty, but at least my nails were hot.
This is China Glaze Love Marilyn, 2 thin coats on top of Mavala Party Time. Love Marilyn is the most special shade from the China Glaze Eye Candy collection, in my opinion. I knew I wanted it the first time I saw the swatches. Didn't want to waste it on 3 coats for opacity, I opted for a base red colour underneath and Party Time was a great choice. It was a pretty red, really easy to apply and almost opaque in one coat.
Quite a few bloggers called Love Marilyn a Minnie Mouse shade, and I kinda agree. You know, the red and white "polka-dots". There have been lots of red glitter nail polish, but the big chunky white glitters in this one set it apart. It sure is a party nail colour, not for the faint of heart.
I did my nails Friday night, aiming to rock this shade all weekend but ended up staying in all day Saturday and Monday. So I gave myself an F but the nail polish got an A+, 3 days, minimal tip wear.
I could have stopped at one coat for a more scattered glittery look, but Love Marilyn in no way lacks glitter density.
It was not a huge pain to remove this mani either, probably because I had a base colour on before the glitters. But even if it were, I still devote my love to it. Enough said!
Hope your week was off to a good start, better than mine. And it could get even worse, as there is a possibility of transit strike this Thursday. I don't drive, so no buses would be a total disaster for me and Squirt. Count your blessings ladies, you don't know how lucky you are until something you take for granted is taken away from you. And I'm not just talking about the buses :)
