I was in the mood for yellow last weekend, and China Glaze Solar Power came to mind. Didn't want to wear it alone, so I brought out the "special effect" bottles, lol.
What I used on top of the bases:
- Thumb and pinkie: Claire's Chunky Gold
- Index: P2 Crackling top coat in Black Explosion
- Middle: OPI Bring on the Bling
- Ring: P2 Crackling top coat in Silver Blast.
As you can see, only the black crackle created a strong contrast, others have more of a shy effect.
I've been loving Claire's Chunky Gold, not only for the chunky gold glitters it has but for the beautiful shimmer in the base. It spices up any boring shade underneath it.
OPI Bring on the Bling is pretty too, but I hate seing bald spots when it's by itself, so Joe Fresh Oyster works well as a not-so-nude base. I tried Bring on the Bling on top of Solar Power, but the combination didn't look as good.
So this is one big "melting pot" of different brands and finishes. Fun to wear and look at :) I plan to do a few more skittle-like manis while we are still in the summer. Stay tuned.

Love the pretty yellows - very funky and happy :)
