Marcelle Essentials Face Cleansing Cloths review

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

Back in October last year, I was sent some Annabelle Eye Makeup Remover Cloths. They were meant for eye makeup removal only but I used them for the whole face (not reading the instructions clearly) and kept wondering why they were so small, lol.

A month or two ago, I received the real deal for full face makeup removal: Marcelle Essentials Face Cleansing Cloths, retails around CAD11 a pack of 25's.

This first pic is to show you the size of the cloth vs. the size of the pack. I forgot to store the pack up side down, which explains the uneven moisturized sheet - more liquid at the fold.

The cloth is of a good size to do the job for the whole face. The formula works for all skin types, is hypo-allergenic and perfume free (i.e. no added fragrances). It does have a scent which comes from the ingredients themselves. I personally prefer scent free cloths, as the scent does linger on your face and hands after use.

Below is a close up to show the texture of the cloth. It's thick enough to clean the face without pulling apart and soft enough for the delicate facial skin.

Main ingredients: Water, Propylene Glycol, Isopropyl Palmitate, etc., including Benzyl Alcohol - for those of you who want to know.

The promises: no greasy after-feel, eliminate long-wearing makeup (including waterproof mascara) while preserving the skin's natural moisture balance.

For me, these held true, for the nights that I was too lazy to wash my face or for the days I don't wear any makeup - as a quick clean to get rid of the oil on my face before bed. I'll spare you from a pic of the dirty cloths after the job, as I don't find it necessary this time :) My face feels fresh and clean (and not dry) afterward, no rinsing needed.

The cloths work well for my daily wear of waterproof mascara (1-2 coats), but if you wear dramatic night looks with 3-4 coats of mascara, it's best to follow up with some eye makeup remover.

I sometimes found these cloths in a bonus 2-for-1 packs, or with a bonus cleanser, great way to save some bucks, if you are looking into trying it. If you have tried these cloths before, let me know what you think of them.

  1. I'm not a fan of makeup remover cloths. Maybe because I haven't found some that really works. Plus, I find them too expensive. A bottle of remover will last forever, but those cloths are single use )= But hey, those are from Marcelle, so they must work =D

  4. Gaby, they don't replace your regular cleanser but are great for lazy days when you just want to go to bed. You don't use them often, so a pack would last long :)

lelo, great to hear it works great for you :)

S, try them out and see what you think
