NOTD: China Glaze Peachy Keen

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

It has been a while since I painted my nails with China Glaze. The constant hunt for new colours, new brands has opened up my polish horizon, and I'm embracing the differences. I still love China Glaze, don't get me wrong. I have a lovely colour to prove it :-)

For the weekend, I pulled out China Glaze Peachy Keen. It is a pretty peach colour in the bottle, but by the look of lots of online swatches, I expected it to be a peachy pastel. Was so surprised the way it turned out on my nails, a true peach colour :-) Did take me a bit of time to come to love it on my skin tone.

I have the same issue capturing the true shade of Peachy Keen. This picture was taken at night with flash which washed the shade out to a lovely pastel. Take my words, it is darker IRL. More pictures to follow.

This is a glamorous version of Peachy Keen. I added a layer of Maybelline Colorama flakie in Shimmer Girl (gold) and a layer of Cover Girl Boundless in Pink Twinkle (a pink glitter in clear base). A nice combo of various brands and texture.

I know that a flakie shows up the best on top of dark colours, but I was curious to see it transform Peachy Keen, and I'm glad I did.

All pictures are clickable for larger view. I'm in love with this mani. Fun and warm for a spring day :-)

Below, on the left is the same flakie version but with flash. Again, the colour was washed out a lot. On the right is in indirect natural light, by the window. What do you think?

  2. Hello! Thanks for your comment on my haul!

I didn't know about the pearls either! I think they they limited-edition, as I've never seen them in stores nor on the website. I'm not sure about the review though because I don't really see the point of doing a review on a limited-edition item... what do you think? I could tell you what I think of them after a few uses?
