Weekly flyer deals

Great news: The Bay is doing the "Eye event" this Saturday. The "Lip event" 2 weeks ago was great, but I'm more into eye makeup, so I have been anxious to see what they do this week.

So far no update on their site, but according to Metro, the first 100 customers who bring in their current eye treatment or eye makeup (this Saturday only) will receive a free CAD10 voucher toward a eye product purchase. Bad news: It has to be a minimum CAD20 purchase to qualify.

This condition is new, as the MAC lipstick I got last time was reg. CAD16.50 and I paid CAD6.50 without any limit. So, this time we won't be able to get a single MAC shadow (reg. CAD17.50 - the price went up, didn't it?) for CAD7.50. We have to buy more. That sucks a little!

On to the rest of the regular store list.

  1. Oh damn! The Bay is doing an eye event? I should look more into that!

  2. Interestingly, the deal can only be found in their flyer, not on their website. They don't seem to do a good job in promoting this kind of event, which is a shame

  3. I totally boycotted the eye event because of their new $20 clause. I mean, really, how much money are they losing if they're only opening the promo to 100 customers per location? I think a lot of people are annoyed, because like you said, you either have to double up on the brands like MAC, or dish out major bucks for a Chanel eye shadow, which is still crazy expensive even after deducting $10!

  4. You're totally right, Lena. I couldn't think of what to get for $20. The MAC counter is not pro store, so no pro-pans to buy. I gave up :-)

The 100 number doesn't really apply, as last time I was in there for the lip event, the voucher were just laying around cashier area. Nobody really counted.

  5. I hear ya, I had the same thing happen for the mascara event - no one paid attention to the numbers. Which, I think, makes it more frustrating - they have crappy marketing, and crappy clauses!

  6. Maybe if we complain enough, they will listen, lol
