It has not been a fun week with the Parliament Hill incident, the lockdown downtown Halifax yesterday (due to a report of weapon incident) and the fallout of a friendship for me. My mind is unease, but talking makeup is an escape to get my mind off things, so here we are!

L'Oreal hinted about a nude palette coming out next Spring. I am curious to see how similar/ different it is from Maybelline's nude palette :)

Quo 2014 holiday collection is out. Time to get your Back to Basics palette, either the original (if you missed it in previous year) or the new matte palette.

Urban Decay has announced the release date and price for (LE) The Naked Vault - October 30, $280, exclusive to their website. They do offer international shipping via MyUS.com but I have not tried it.

  1. Some co-workers were in Halifax yesterday, they tried to get into the Provincial library (had a meeting) but it was cancelled because of the lock down. I'm sorry to hear about the fall out between you and your friend. I hope you two can resolve things :(

I'm wondering - have you spotted the Maybelline Creamy Mattes yet? I found them at Walmart today (and quickly snatched all the ones I thought would look good ;) ) but that display didn't have Craving Coral or Divine Wine. I'm wondering if they were just gone or if Canada isn't going to get those colours?

    1. Thanks, Norma. It was her pulling away from me, not wanting to hang out and cancelling prearranged things, saying she was too busy. I guess she found new friends.

I mentioned my finding about Maybelline creamy mattes in the post today. Your instinct might be true, I'm afraid.

    2. That's too bad. Breakups/falling outs with friends is always odd. If it's a romantic falling out there is a definite end. But with friends things more often just fizzle away. It sucks she couldn't be open with you but I guess if it's just that she has new friends there'd be no easy way for her to just come out and say so :(

Urgh. It always feels like Canada gets the short end of the stick with cosmetics :/

    3. Yeah, I could take the hint. Doesn't matter now that she said anything to me anymore.

I have asked a friend in the US to CP me Divine Wine, don't want to risk it. Hate when brands do this.

    4. (((hugs))) if this is the way your ex friend feels is okay to behave, you're better off without her.

I may ask a US friend to ship me Divine Wine and Craving Coral too...I still do want to try them even though I was underwhelmed by the others. I'm so weak LOL. I hate it too and I don't understand the logic behind giving some countries all the shades but not others.

    5. Thanks, Norma. I'll be over it soon.

Divine Wine is definitely a must, just like Brazen Berry (the Vivid that Canada didn't get).
