TBS Moisture White Shiso line

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

The Body Shop has recently brought back the Asia-popular Moisture White Shiso line online and at selected store locations.

Considered a special collection, it has never been part of any sales ran at TBS, so I went with the next best thing - in-store pre packs.

The Save Our Skin kit is $50 (valued $85) with:
- Brightening serum (reg. $36)
- BB serum ($25) and
- Concentrated Target perfector ($24).

The Essential Cleaning kit is $35 (valued $61) with:
- Makeup cleansing oil (reg. $16)
- Foaming facial wash ($15) and
- Moisture cream ($30).

After spending some $ on the kits, I received a PR sample of the brightening serum for review. So I thought I would test and review it by itself and will add other products to the routine later.

Described as a light serum with Shiso extract and Community Trade organic aloe vera from Guatemala, the brightening serum is meant to blend into the skin, leaving an invisible non-sticky protective film.

And it does, the light lotion texture is soothing and comfortable on the skin and absorbs quickly. It does have a very light scent that does not linger.

I like the simple white packaging and the airless pump.

One pump is enough for the whole face. A moisturizer can follow right away after. It does not affect the absorption of the primer and foundation either. Good for when you are tight in time to get ready :)

I enjoy the serum but can't confirm the brightening effect of it unfortunately. I gave it enough time but don't notice any change in my skin tone.

A slight difference from most serum: the brightening serum is not clear but opaque white, and not a gel/ silicone-like texture either. Great for those who prefer light serums.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Cyclopentasiloxane, Squalane, Butylene Glycol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Dipropylene Glycol, Behenyl Alcohol, PEG-100 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Dimethicone, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, etc.

The serum is suitable for all skin types, $36 for 1oz/ 30ml. I will finish up the serum as it works well with other products I use, but I won't count on it as a brightening factor in the routine. If it does brighten your skin, please leave me a comment. I sure love to know.
