Maybelline Fit Me Shine Free foundation

Check out one of the latest foundations in the market, guys!

This is Maybelline Fit Me Shine Free foundation with an anti-shine core. I came across a display and couldn't help picking one up to test.

To start off, a few interesting things about the foundation that got me all curious:
- The stick format: easy to travel with, no mess, no spillage
- The gel formulation: blends easily, gives a semi matte finish
- The core with built-in powder: dissolves excess oil.

A quick way to describe it: a cream/gel to powder finish in a stick. You'd be curious too, wouldn't you? :)

The product performed well at the very first swipes, applied and blended smoothly. It was quite creamy with a bit drier texture than regular cream foundations, thanks to the powder finish in the core.

And it dried semi matte on the skin, looked very natural on - something I would expect out of a powder foundation. You can build up another layer, and it would not look cakey. Almost a perfect A+ product at this point.

However, the foundation only has light to medium coverage and does not last super long on its own. I still have to use a concealer, and set everything with a powder afterward. Fading started after about 4 hours in and was noticeable after 6 hours, give or take. A primer might delay this a bit, an hour or two top.

There are 12 shades of this foundation available in the US, but the display I found at Shoppers only had about half of that.

This is my shade, 230 Natural Buff, side by side with MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC37, as a comparison. It has less yellow undertone but is a pretty good match for me when blended, interestingly enough.

I have been using the foundation nonstop for 5 days now, and my first impressions of it still stand. I think Maybelline did it with this formula and fun product design. For those who were fortunately born with great skin, this is a good summer foundation for you.

I still enjoy Fit Me Shine Free foundation but wish Maybelline would improve coverage and lasting power, so that it could become a HG material in my book.

Note that the foundation does not have SPF, but you would apply a sunscreen before makeup anyway, don't you? :)

The stick has 0.32oz/ 9g of product, retails around $12.49.
