This is Quo by Orly Beyond the Sea, one of the Limited Edition shades from Quo by Orly Spring 2013 collection.
The display for these was gone from my local Shoppers, so Beyond the Sea might be harder to find now, but I couldn't help showing it to you. It is just one stunning polish.
First, the colour. It is one of the most beautiful lapis blues I have ever tried, like a a deep blue sea. It is dimensional and deep without being too dark to be mistaken as black. The flash brought out the blue undertone more, so it appeared brighter than IRL.
Second, the finish, it is semi matte, with teal shimmers. We don't see this very often. I did not expect this, to start off, which might be why I love it even more.
This mani was two coats with no top coat. I almost always wear a top coat, unless the polish looks better matte than glossy and Beyond the Sea did, in this case.
And third, no staining. With a strong blue like this, smurf hands after it is removed is always a risk. I was happy that didn't happen to both my nails and my cuticles.
This close-up shot shows you the teal shimmers in the bottle and on the nails. To infinity ... and beyond (the sea) is a beautiful "scene" :)
I am still recovering from the long Weekend finds post, a sign that I went overboard with shopping. But I almost always am anyway... just kidding.
It's mid week, hope you all manage to get by with this horrible weather, nowhere near Spring. It is warmer today but rainy and extremely foggy. Bleh! Why don't you guys tell me what exciting things you have bought lately, just to make the day more fun to bear :)

Beautiful colour! Reminds me of Orly Royal Navy
ReplyDeleteThey might be close, I missed out on Royal Navy
DeleteIf you're interested in Royal Navy, you can buy it at Sally's Beauty :)
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid it's only available in the new bottle design now, and I don't really like the shape lol. I'll live without it :)
