SeabuckWonders skin care

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

Continue my good streak with SeabuckWonders Sea buckthorn products, I have the privilege to try their brand new skin care line - 100% natural, with high concentration of sea buckthorn, and infused with Omega 3, 6, 7 and 9.

Since I have mentioned the benefits of these awesome ingredients in my first review (linked above), I will continue on with how they look and perform.

Still the traditional orange colour on the boxes (pictured), but inside, these skin care products spot a lovely white packaging (see below). They are all pH-balanced, suitable for all skin types, and naturally scented with essential orange oil. The scent is very subtle, I hardly notice it.

First product is the Himalayan Sea Buckthorn Exfoliating facial cleanser.

The tube is clear plastic, allowing a peak at the fine particles floating in the creamy pale yellow tinted base.

The product came out of the pump as a thicker liquid and was very refreshing upon contact with the skin. The exfoliating effect was very gentle but offered a really good clean and maintained that refreshing feeling from the start. Needless to say, it did not dry out the skin nor make it feel tight. Could be used everyday if desired.

Ingredients: Deionized water, Decyl Glucoside, Lauryl Betaine, Lauryl Glucoside, Sodium Levulinate, Sodium Anisate, Vegetable Glycerin, Jojoba Esters, Glyceryl Oleate, Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Xanthan Gum, Coco Glucoside, Carrageenan, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn) Oil, Phenylethyl Alcohol, Sodium Phytate.

The bottle is of good size - 4oz/ 120ml, retails $16.97.

I was so glad to see the Himalayan Sea Buckthorn Deep Hydrating serum, as part of the line. I have made it a priority to use a serum before my moisturizer, and a sea buckthorn serum fits in perfectly to that routine.

The tube, in this case, is metal, with a pump inside the clear plastic cap. Military style :) The product has the same texture of the cleanser above (minus the exfoliating particles), same refreshing feeling too. It absorbs quickly, leaving the skin hydrated and soft.

The serum is also supposed to improve skin texture and tone, and support cell regeneration to minimize fine lines and boost a healthy glow. Well, cell regeneration I can't confirm (cause I can't really see it happening lol) but my skin has been looking a lot healthier since that long flight coming back from vacation. Can't stop the fine lines around my eyes, but they don't look as visible as before. Bonus!

Ingredients: Deionized water, Vegetable Glycerin, Sodium Levulinate, Sodium Anisate, Betaine, Algae Extract, Mugwort (Artemisia Vulgaris) Extract, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Phenoxyethanol, Sclerotium Gum, Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn) Oil, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizinate, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Xanthan Gum, Tocopherol Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Sodium Phytate, Ethylhexylglycerin

Standard size for a serum - 1oz/ 30ml, the product will cost you $34.97. I would definitely repurchase this tube, if I can find it around here.

A good companion of the serum is the Himalayan Sea Buckthorn facial cream, to get to that extra level of soft and hydrated skin we all want. It is also supposed to help protect the skin from the damaging effects of the sun and environmental pollutants.

It is a cream indeed, with thicker consistency than a lotion but is lightweight, with a darker yellow tint. Colourless on the skin though, as the case with all products in the line. Absorption is quick and easy, no concern here either. As a matter of fact, less is more with this cream.

This pump is great to disperse the precise amount of cream every time, but I wish the tube is clear so I know when it is almost used up.

Ingredients: Deionized water, Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn) Oil, Vegetable Stearic Acid, Vegetable Glycerin, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Oil, Vegetable Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Olivate, Shea Butter, Essential Herbal Blend (Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Tilia Cordata Flower (Linden) Extract, Cornflower Extract, Roman Chamomilla Extract, Hypericum Perforatum (St. John’s Wort) Extract), Phenoxyethanol, Essential Orange Oil, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera Gel), Pro-Vitamin B-5, Allantoin, Vitamin E, Ethylhexylglycerin.

The same bottle size as the serum (1oz/ 30ml), a bit more than half the price - $19.97. If budget allows, I'd suggest both, but if not, the serum takes the cake for me.

The lovely part of the line is a body product to pair with what I put on my face, making a complete skin care routine. This is the Himalayan Sea Buckthorn body lotion.

This huge plastic tube has a flip cap, no mess option. Similar texture and colour to the facial cream, same effect on the skin too. I love a few squirts of this lotion after a shower for best moisture retention on the skin. No greasy feeling after, so I can put my clothes on right away. I would add another layer on before bed and am good till the next day.

Ingredients: Deionized water, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Oil, Vegetable Stearic Acid, Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn) Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, Vegetable Cetyl Alcohol, Shea Butter, Cetearyl Olivate, Glyceryl Stearate, Essential Herbal Blend (Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Tilia Cordata Flower (Linden) Extract, Cornflower Extract, Roman Chamomilla Extract, Hypericum Perforatum (St. John’s Wort) Extract), Phenoxyethanol, Essential Orange Oil, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera Gel), Pro-Vitamin B-5, Ethylhexylglycerin, Vitamin E.

Very reasonably priced at $14.97 for 6oz/ 180ml of product. Would buy again if I can.

SeabuckWonders skin care is vegan, cruelty free, paraben and gluten free. As mentioned in previous review, SeabuckWonders' products are available at health food/ supplement stores in the US (not yet in Canada) or online from Tao of Herbs.
