Cropper Hopper Rolling Organizer

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

Today's post is about organization - for makeup, I mean. I am in serious needs of a storage solution that stops me from running around the house looking for something I bought but could not remember where I put it.

You have probably seen these little carts that youtubers/ bloggers use to store their makeup. I have always wanted one (or a few). Love the colourful look, the number of drawers and the compact size of it but everywhere I look, the product is either not available outside US or costs an arm and a leg to ship to Canada.
I am excited to tell you that this cart is now within your reach if you have a Michaels near you. I had gone to Michaels for the melmers for my nail polish, and now I go there for this - Cropper Hopper 10-drawer Rolling Cart for my makeup.
Brand new to Michaels, this item retails CAD89.99 (compared to $83.55 on Cropper Hopper website). This week (until Friday), it is 50% off (CAD44.99). But to sweeten the deal further, there is a 25% off coupon on your entire purchase (including sale items) this week, which brings the cart down to CAD33.74. How's that for 62.5% off?

I was so excited after playing out the numbers in my head, and with a coupon in hands, I headed to my nearest Michaels.

This is what the box looks like. To give you an idea of the size:
Cart dimensions: 38" x 13" x 15.25" (96.5cm x 33cm x 38.735cm)
Inside drawer dimensions: 2.75" x 9.5" x 13.5" (6.985cm x 24.13cm x 34.29cm)

The drawers come in pairs with 5 different colours. You can arrange them in whatever order you want. I went with the same order as on the packaging, like a rainbow.

Assembling the cart was not hard and didn't take much time at all. I was nervous to start out, but didn't even need to use any extra tools to put it together. The hex wrench that comes in the box was enough to tighten the screws, and then the drawers slid in. Done :)

The frame is sturdy enough to support the cart. The drawers are plastic, not too deep but are good for makeup items. The top makes a lovely surface for larger items that need to stand upright like foundation bottles, brushes, etc.

This is my cart after I was done "assembling" it lol. I love the fact that now (some of) my makeup has a common home where I can go find everything I need. I have lots of stuff that are still in Shoppers' bags or sitting around on top of my desk, my dresser, train case, boxes, everywhere. I trust that lots of you can relate.

All I need now is some drawer organizers from the dollar store to arrange my stuff in there. I might come back to Michaels for another cart to store the overflowing nail polish after my melmers were full. Squirt wants one too, for her crafts.

So in summary, this is a neat little organizer to have, especially for the price I paid. It does the job of holding things in one place, but don't expect it to be a heavy duty makeup cabinet. The fact that the drawers are small and plastic implies that you should not overload them. The wheels are a bonus when you need to move the cart around. 2 of them has a locking mechanism to stop the cart from rolling around by itself. I'm sold! Next step would be the 20-drawer cart (like 2 of the 10-drawer, side by side) :) At the moment, Micheals doesn't have that option yet lol.

If you do have a cart like this, I'd love to hear what you think of it. Or if you haven't owned one, do you plan to?

but the drawers aren't tall enough to stand up nail polishes - so i brought it back.

  2. I have the exact same organizer but I got mine for $24.99 at Costco.
I didn't know it retailed for $89.99 at Michaels, that's way too much! Good thing you got it on sale!

  3. Rebecca and Ashley, I don't have Costco membership to check it out, but if they do have the cart at that price, I was certainly missing out. Thanks for letting me know

  4. Not sure if you've seen the rolling carts that Temptalia uses, but if you have, would you say they're similar? I've been looking for one of these to hold all my odds and ends!

  5. I think they are the same, other than the choice of multi colours or black for the drawers
