Morning ladies! I'm slowly diving in the "pool" of nail polish that was my US haul. I have for you today NYX Girls Purple Noir, as requested. This first pic is with flash, as usual.
First off, I like the square bottle - it makes holding on to it for picture taking a little easier. Storing (in my overflowing melmer) is also easier. The shiny metal handle is a plus to the look too.
One thing I don't like is that the labels (which are in black, front and back) are almost invisible when you have a darker polish inside. I had to tilt the bottle in a weird angle trying to read the shade name off it, or had to look it up online by the number (also in black but printed on top of the bar code background, which is white).
The next 2 pics are in natural light. The purple is lovely, isn't it? Dark, but still look purple, and it is quite shiny. I did have a coat of Seche Vite on top though, like in most of my mani pics.
By the time I took these pics, I had gone ahead and added China Glaze Fairy Dust on top of all nails instead of just the accent nail the night before. It doesn't change the base colour but added a fun twist - It now looks like a purple night sky full of stars. I kid you not, that's what I see when I look at my nails :) Click the pic to enlarge to see it better.
This one is a little blurry but shows the effect of Fairy Dust quite well. It is an oldie but goodie that I'm glad I have.
Wear wise, Purple Noir last about 2 days on me. Can't confirm it is the case for all NYX Girls nail polish until I tried a few more. But for me, it's reasonable. Some of you might have higher expectation on how long a nail polish should last, so just keep this in mind if you come across some NYX Girls nail polish.
All in all, this is a good colour to have. Maybe a little more appropriate for the fall, but again, I wear all kinds of colours all year round, don't really have a particular definition of seasonal colours lol. Next NOTD might be a brighter shade to celebrate the warmer weather that we might end up having (finally) in the next few days :)
