NOTD: Joe Fresh Peacock

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

A Sunday night post, not like me, but I have a few things to chit chat to you about. Stay tuned at the end for that.

Let me show you the NOTD I wore back when the sun made an appearance (i.e. more than a week ago): Joe Fresh Peacock. This is one of the best shades I have from Joe Fresh. It is supposed to be a LE shade from last year, no long listed on Joe Fresh website. However, it sometimes shows up on the shelf. And whenever I see it, I want to buy it again. Unintentional backup, lol.

This is Peacock under flash, with a bit of flakie top coat on the ring finger.

If your expert eyes tell you this shade is familiar, you get brownie points. Peacock is a dupe of the harder to find China Glaze Rodeo Fanatic.

I was going to order Rodeo Fanatic a while back, seeing so many people having it in their wish list. I wasn't into nail polish at the time it was released. Was really happy to know that I didn't have to anymore cause I already have Peacock.

Quality wise, Peacock carries on the good application reputation, well known to Joe Fresh brand. Opaque in 2 coats, wears well. It does have a slight duochrome effect under certain lighting, which is a plus.

My effort to take a pic of Peacock under the sun. It shows up a little dark, but still pretty. I will let the pics do the talking as there isn't much more to say about it.

I'm in the middle of packing to fly to Toronto tomorrow with Squirt. I'll be there for a few days, then fly off to see the bf for a week. It is exciting but I'm always anxious before any trip - worrying that I'd forget something, worrying about the cats, and everything else.

I might or might not bringing my laptop with me, so updating the blog would depend on when I have access to a computer and internet. The hotel I'll be at only has free internet in the lobby, not in the room, kinda sucks. But I'll be back before you know it.

Hope all the moms out there had a great Mother's Day. Squirt made me a beautiful card and a painting, like she always does since pre-school. This year she wrote me a poem too:

"Today is Mother's Day in the house
I went downstairs to check on my mouse
And he said ... Shhh be quiet, I'm going to scare my mom
Shhh be quiet I'm going to sing her a song".

She aslo sung me a song in the Old MacDonald Has A Farm rhythm:
"I know you had a hard day but I love you Mom!
I will make you so happy cause I'll give you love
Wish a kiss kiss here, and a kiss kiss there
Here a kiss, there a kiss, everywhere a kiss kiss
So I sing this song for you, for this Mother's Day"

I had tears in my eyes this morning. Hope to see you all again soon!

  2. I'd imagine the U.S. airport security is crazy right now (more so than usual) what with all that happened a week ago but have a safe flight & loads of fun with the bf!

  3. I have Peacock and think it's a great shade, unfortunatley for me, the application is streaky and not opaque after a few coats :( Seems I got the dummy one, as your is fine!

  5. Chris, thank you. I'll try my best to enjoy my time away :)

Ashley, yes it took an hour to get through the border (which would normally take only 5 mins lol)

Ms Bubu, yes mine works as well as any other Joe Fresh polish. Sorry you got a bad one

Tracy, thank you, I'm a lucky mom.
