The Body Shop Gifts haul

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

This is a "How I got $200 worth of products for $36" haul :) Not meaning as a brag, but thought I would share how I planned a purchase to the most advantage.

If you aren't in the loop, The Body Shop was having some crazy sales this weekend. All gifts are 30% off, and Friday and Saturday were LYB (Love Your Body, The Body Shop's membership) 20% off event. So gifts would come out to be 44% off (the discounts weren't totalled but applied one after the other). What pushed this haul over the top was the Groupon deal ($45 credit for $20), AND I got $25 credit for being at 8 points on my LYB card.

So here's the breakdown of what I got and what I paid for them.

This set is the Moroccan Rose set with the:
- Shower gel (250ml, reg. CAD13)
- EDT (50ml, CAD25).

The last ticketed price on this set was CAD25, became CAD14 after discount. Like I was getting the EDT for free, plus the pretty box and the bow lol.

I know that this is not a new scent but I haven't owned it yet and thought gift sets are the best/ economical way to try out a scent. Plus, the products compliment each other, make the scent last longer on you.

This set is Sweet Lemon Luxury set, with:
- Shower gel (250ml, reg. CAD8)
- Body butter (200ml, CAD16)
- Body scrub (200ml, CAD16)
- Soap (CAD4)
- Bath lily (CAD3).

For the value of CAD47, the set retails for CAD35, and I paid CAD19.60.

The Sweet Lemon line is supposed to have lemon seed oil, high in anti-oxidants and Vitamin C, that helps moisturize and soften the skin. It smells like candied lemon, citrusy and a bit sweet. I like it.

A similar set in a different scent, the Pink Grapefruit Luxury set.

Price points are exactly the same as the Sweet Lemon. The Pink Grapefruit's main ingredients include glycerin and organic honey to moisturize the skin.

What got me though is the scent. I suck at describing it, so let's just say it smells a lot better than what I thought a pink grapefruit would smell like. I was going to get a different set with a scent I had tried before, but after a sniff, I went with this one.

And lastly, the Dreams Unlimited set, with:
- Body wash (200ml, CAD15)
- EDP (50ml, CAD32)
- Body lotion (200ml, CAD16.50).

Last ticketed price was CAD45 for the value of CAD63.50, I got it for CAD25.20.

I like this scent, quite light and fresh. It's supposedly a blend of citrus, green chilli, white flowers and cedarwood. I wouldn't know what each one smells like, but together, it's all good :) I would wear it in the summer.

The total after discounts, $25 credit and $45 groupon, was $8.40 for the loot. With tax and $20 I paid for the groupon, I spent $36 (82% saving), not mentioning the 2 LYB points to bank up for future purchases. Yee hah!

Hope your weekend is going well. It doesn't look like it's gonna be sunny today, and I have a Del Sol nail polish to take pic in the sun :( Have a great one!
