I didn't know it was going to be Lipstick Day today so I have no colours to show you :) More Bioderma lines instead.
Formulated with:
- Fluidactiv complex: regulates sebum quality, which keeps pores from being clogged and limits the formulation of blemishes
- Agaric acid: tightens pores and refines skin texture
- Anti-oxidants: preserve the skin's natural radiance.
The product has a lotion-like texture but with a powdery effect (i.e. it dries quite matte) hence it works great as a makeup base.
Appreciate the seal at the top of the tube, don't we?
The brand suggests to apply the Pore refiner once or twice a day all over the face or locally on the T zone, forehead, nose, chin. I went with the latter, as that is where my problematic areas are.
On me, the product is more of a mattifying primer (and I have been using it for this purpose) than a pore refiner as it only blurs out the pores a tiny bit, not being able to hide them. There is a light scent to it, if you wonder.
Ingredients: Water, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Dipropylene Glycol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclohexasiloxane, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Fomes Officinalis (Mushroom) Extract, Sodium Polyacrylate, Salicylic Acid, Dodecyl Gallate, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Mannitol, Xylitol, Rhamnose, etc.
The product is paraben free, comes in a 30ml tube.
The Cicabio line (for irritated, damaged skin, purple accent packaging) is also worth taking a look.
The Creme soothing repairing cream has a "dressing effect" (combined with hyaluronic acid) that forms a breathable film for skin comfort, with:
- Resveratrol, copper and centella asiatica: promote epidermal restoration
- Zinc: prevents bacterial proliferation
- Antalgicine: relieves feelings of discomfort and reduces the urge to scratch.
It is meant for cuts, scratch, mosquito bites, burn and other minor skin damage (superficial peeling, non-abrasive laser following dermatological treatments on medical advice, outbreaks of dryness, redness, overheating, squamous zones, etc.). Impressed?
Instructions: Apply twice daily on the damaged area until the skin is repaired.
Now during the testing period, I only had my blemishes to use the product on and it calmed them down. I know that nothing will completely heal them but would appreciate anything that makes them less irritated and painful. I will continue using it this way to maintain the effect.
Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Fructooligosaccharides, Zinc Oxide, Octyldodecanol, Butylene Glycol, Polyacrylamide, Mannitol, Xylitol, Rhamnose, Laminaria Ochroleuca Extract, Copper Sulfate, Zinc Sulfate, Sodium Hyaluronate, etc.
This product is fragrance/ paraben free, 40ml, $15.95.
Here are the Sebium Pore refiner (left) and Cicabio Creme soothing repairing cream (right).
The textures are quite similar - like lotions, with Sebium Pore refiner is white while Cicabio Creme is more beige/ off white (which is the natural colour of the ingredients, no colouring agents added).
Both go on light and smooth, and leave no trace of colour nor texture after being absorbed in.
Lastly, the Atoderm line (for very dry to atopic sensitive skin, sky blue accent packaging) has a Levres (Lips) moisturizing stick.
I am very keen on applying a lip balm through the day and before bed, cause my lips need it. This moisturizing stick, with shea butter, works decent in sooth dehydrated lips but does need a head start. I mean the lips do not feel hydrated right away when the balm first goes on, but give it a few minutes and you are good for a few hours :)
I don't really detect a scent with it, and as it looks, it goes on clear.
Ingredients: Mineral Oil (Paraffinum Liquidum), Paraffin, Microcrystalline Wax (Cera Microristallina), Synthetic Wax, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Lauryl Pca, Beeswax (Cera Alba), Tocopherol, Lecithin, Arachidyl Propionate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate, etc.
The product is allergen/ paraben free, comes in a 4g stick, $6.95.
