Bioderma Photoderm

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

Did you know Bioderma has a Photoderm sun care line with the orange accent packaging? I didn't, until I received some products to try. Another thing I didn't know: there is sunscreen lotion spray :)

This is Photoderm SPF40 lotion spray, with high protection UVA-UVB and Cellular Bioprotection to combat premature cutaneous aging. I am all for that!

The instruction indicates not spraying directly on the face but spraying on the hands then applying to the face, so that was how I have been using this lotion spray.

Not a surprise but I am enjoying this texture, still a lotion but more airy and lighter. The scent is still a sunscreen smell but quite a bit lighter too. It does appear white when it goes on the skin but disappear once rubbed in. I have no complains about what and how the product performs.

Medicinal ingredients: Octocrylene 8%, Bisoctrizole 6%, Avobenzone: 4.5%.
Ingredients: Water, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Alcohol Denat., Hydroxypropyl Dimethicone Behenate, Decyl Glucoside, C20-22 Alkyl Phosphate, C20-22 Alcohols, Ttocopheryl Acetate, Phenoxyethanol, etc.

The lotion spray is paraben free, waterproof, in a 200ml bottle, retails $29.95.

Not that we have had crazy hot summer days this year so far to test an after-sun product, but I tried my best.

This is the Refreshing after-sun milk for face & body (sensitive skin) in the line, also with Cellular Bioprotection and enriched with emollient and soothing agents:
- Allantoin and Ginkgo Biloba: soothe feelings of overheating
- Glycerine and Shea un-saponifiables: rehydrate and prevent dryness caused by sun exposure.

With the suggested use of once a day during periods of sun exposure and over the following days on clean dried skin, I find the product moisturizing and feel nice on the skin with a light scent. It also claims to prolongs the tan but I can't confirm that. You will see why below.

Ingredients: Water, Mineral Oil (Paraffinum Liquidum), Glycerin, Sorbitan Stearate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Propylene Glycol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cyclohexasiloxane, Polysorbate 60, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Cetyl Alcohol, Ectoin, Mannitol, Xylitol, Rhamnose, etc.

The after-sun milk is also paraben free, 200ml tube, $23.95.

This is the texture of the lotion spray when it comes out the bottle (left) and the after-sun milk.

Like I said, the lotion spray has a light lotion texture, but the milk does not feel like milky but also like a lotion :) No problem though, as they do what they say they mainly do.

I like that they are both moisturizing, non oily and leave no white traces. Good companion for summer, as long as we have it.

Now onto something I do not use that often, a tanning product, considering my skin tone.

Bioderma has an Autobronzant moisturizing self tanning spray (sensitive skin) that is supposed to dry instantly, moisturize and leave an even (gradual) tan.

Instruction: To get a tan - once a day for 3 days, then once every 2 days, or to maintain a tan - once a week.

Gradual tan is for sure, as it comes out of the bottle bubbly clear (left below) then the bubbles disappear (right). Plus with my olive skin, the tan would not show much of an effect. So this is not much of a review, as I am not its targeted user, so keep it in your horizon to check out yourself if you need a tanning product.

Ingredients: Water, Dimethyl Ether, Glycerin, Pentylene Glycol, Dihydroxyacetone, Trideceth-9 Pgamodimethicone, Ectoin, Mannitol, Xylitol, Rhamnose, Fructooligosaccharides, Trideceth-12, Sodium Metabisulfite, Lactic Acid, Fragrance.

The spray does have a scent, paraben free, 150ml.
