Yves Rocher Anti-age Global

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

I have the opportunity to test out Yves Rocher Anti-age Global line in the last month. This line (with Day cream, Night cream and Eye cream) provides anti-aging care with Plant Source Cells (4G Plant Source Cells from Echinacea), targeting women over 40 as a treatment and women over 30 as a prevention.

Controversial effects of plan stem cells on human skin aside, I'm reviewing the products of how they work on me, as always.

I like the green concept the line embraces - the products are paraben free, the boxes are made out of sustainably managed forests, printed with vegetable-based ink and no leaflets inside to save paper.

First is the Day cream.

The jar is of standard size for this type of products (1.6oz/ 50ml). The plastic packaging with metal rims offers a simple and clean look, but I do wish it gives more of a luxury feel, as the product is not in the cheap range - retails $64, on sale for $35 at the moment.

The texture is a thicker whipped lotion. A little product goes a long way, it spreads out easily and absorbs in reasonable time. I always give it about 5 minutes before applying makeup on top.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Coco-caprylate/ Caprate, Methylpropanediol, Betaine, Stearyl Alcohol, Squalane, Centaurea Cyanus Flower water, Butylene Glycol, Arachidyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Sorbitan Stearate, Hydrolyzed Pectin, Mangiferin, Behenyl Alcohol, etc.

The Night cream is identical to the Day cream in terms of texture, packaging, size, and how it works on the skin. And as you see below, the ingredients are almost the same as well, with some in different order between the two lists. For this reason, I'm combining the review for both.

These creams feel great on my skin, leave a satin finish which is not greasy, always appreciated. They don't stop aging or erase fine lines but keep my skin looking fresh and moisturized and lines are less visible on my forehead.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Coco-caprylate/ Caprate, Methylpropanediol, Betaine, Stearyl Alcohol, Squalane, Centaurea Cyanus Flower water, Butylene Glycol, Behenyl Alcohol, Arachidyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Sorbitan Stearate, Hydrolyzed Pectin, Glycine Soja (Soybean) oil, Mangiferin, etc.

The Night cream also retails for $64, on sale for $45 right now.

Lastly, the Eye cream :)

Besides the skin benefits it shares with the Day and Night cream, the Eye cream is marketed to be able to deflate under-eye bags and fade out dark circles.

On me, it is refreshing (on contact with the metal applicator) and keeps my under eye areas from looking dry and dull. However, I still need a concealer to hide dark circles.

I use the Eye cream twice a day, before the Day and Night cream.

Ingredients: Water, Coco-caprylate/ Caprate, Methylpropanediol, Stearyl Alcohol, Ethyhexyl Stearate, Centaurea Cyanus Flower water, Butylene Glycol, Arachidyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Sesamumindicum (Sesame) Seed oil, Sorbitan Stearate, Betaine, Mangiferin, Behenyl Alcohol, etc.

The tube has 0.5oz/ 15ml, retails $46, on BOGO at the moment.

For what these products can do, I do recommend them for those who are of my age range with early signs of fine lines, as they are good moisturizers for the intended uses. However, since I can't tell the difference between the Day and Night cream (formula and effects), I would say you only need one to pair with the Eye cream and watch for sales so your wallet doesn't hate you :)
