Marcelle Trend collection review

Posted by Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty

It has been raining here every day since the weekend, can you believe it? I haven't seen the sun for so long, and only makeup could make up for it, lol.

Groupe Marcelle has generously sent me their winter Trend makeup collection for review. I was so stoked opening the package when I saw all the pretty items inside.

My pics don't do the products justice, but here they are:
- Graphic Face Pressed powder in Prismatic Neutrals
- Graphic Eye Shadow quad in Dimensional Mauve and Dimensional Blue.

You know what I'm gonna say right? I love the pattern on the surface of all 3, they are like a piece of art waiting for me to dip my brush in. And believe me, that is not easy to do :)

Also came in the package are the 2 Rouge Xpression lipsticks in Curious and Delightful.

Now the Rouge Xpression lipsticks have been previously released with 12 colours, you probably have seen them in stores. But these 2 shades are only available in this LE collection, so check them out.

I like the fact that these lipsticks have Maxi-Lip complex, avocado and Omega-6 oils that are supposed to hydrate the lips. They are very creamy too, feel like butter - a luxurious feeling, if you ask me.

Here are the swatches.
I swatched the lipsticks first as they look so inviting, I'm not kidding lol.

Curious (on the left) looks a little darker IRL, a shade I wouldn't pick out myself by the look of it. But on my dark lips, it shows up as a MLBB colour and a perfect fall colour. It brings in a bit of colour that my lips lack but leave them naturally looking. Not mentioning that it is very hydrating and comfortable to wear.

Delightful is more cheerful, not any less pretty than Curious. These 2 are what I reached for in the last few rainy days.

As with most Marcelle products, they are hypoallergenic and perfume-free. Come in 0.12oz/ 3.5g size, retail $11.95. Right now there is a coupon to save $2 on these lipsticks on the site, or attached to the store display. Look for it.

This is Dimensional Blue. The surface has been swatched, so the pattern wore off a bit.

The swatches start from the shade on the left and continue clock wise, with a damp brush and some concealer as base.

The prettiest shade is the darken grey-ish blue on the top, would make a very pretty crease colour. The other 2 blue shades are a little less pigmented, I use them as wash colours on the lid.

I also reached for this quad because of the white colour, as highlight.

The quads are 0.21oz/ 6g, retail $11.95 each.

Now there come my favorite quad - Dimensional Mauve. Can you ask for a better quad for the season?

The highlight colour has a bit more pink, so I use it for the inner corners. The other 3 are pigmented, especially the mauve-ish purple at the bottom. Holly cow!

The flash washes out the colours a bit, as usual. I wanted to point out that the gunmetal colour at the top is very pretty IRL. Well, let's just say that this is a winner quad, before I keep going on and on about how pretty every colour is, lol.

If you are looking into getting a quad, I would suggest Dimensional Mauve for the pigmentation and colour option.
Last but not least, Prismatic Neutrals.

It is designed as a face powder, to give you a nice subtle glow. I used a flat top brush and swirled it around for that, with a light hand. If you look closely, the swatch of it is at the bottom, near my wrist.

However, I do think this quad can be more than that. I swatched the colours individually to show you. The pink shade on the top is eyeshadow or blush material, and the bronze could be a bronzer colour. The other 2 are for highlight. It would take a bit of work to get your brush into the small space of each specific colour, but it's worth it.

This is what I call a multi-purpose quad. It is a bit bigger than the eyeshadow quads, 0.3oz/ 10g, retails $14.95.

All in all, this is a great collection for Fall. Love the colours, quad design and the pretty patterns on the products. Other than Dimensional Blue which could improve a bit on the pigmentation, all products work as they promise they would. That's the TREND.

While we are on the topic, Marcelle is having the Express Your True Colours contest for Canadians to win a glam evening with your 3 girfriends, or 1 of the 600 Rouge Xpression lipsticks. Enter everyday, if you wish, until December 2.

  1. I love that they come up with such pretty patterns for their LE collections~
The problem becomes that it is hard to use them cause I do love the pretty patterns! I have a shadow and face powder from that lace pattern collection (i got it on clearance, it was awesome XD) but haven't used it...and that was MONTHS and MONTHS ago >_< lol

  2. Yes, they are pretty to look at. I had to dip my brush in for swatches, so no option there lol. But I know what you mean, I do the same for lots of my pretty items
